Archos AV700 hands-on review
CNet has gotten a chance to spend some time with Archos's upcoming new 40/100GB PVP, the AV700, and has a review of the player up — they are particularly overwhelmed by its largitude. Its 7-inch screen makes for some larger viewing area than other portable video players, but conversely cuts into the whole "portable" aspect of the unit (8.2 by 4.2 by 0.8 inches). Otherwise, they're impressed with the overall package, not taking any major issues with it other than recommending going in for an extra battery to get around the five hour battery life limitation. When the AV700 finally hits retail in June, we'll be looking at a pricetag of approximately $600 for the 40GB and $800 for the 100GB version — and oh yes, we will be looking.
