First RAZRberry details?
Oh, and we should mention that alongside the HTC Wizard, Howard Forums also has some details and a disappointing (if it's legit) rendering of the RAZRberry, that RAZR-style smartphone that we first learned about last year and which Motorola CEO Ed Zander quietly confirmed back in February. These details are completely unverified, but the RAZRberry is listed as having quad-band GSM, EDGE, a QVGA quality, 320 x 240 pixel, 65,000 color LCD screen, Bluetooth, and support for RIM's BlackBerry email technology. It's listed as coming out in Q3.

That is hideous. Just when you think Motorola is owning everybody in designing how phones look
Of course it's fake, but still.
Gabe @ Dec 19th 2005 12:16AM
Wouldn't "RAZberry" be better?
Dummies...

this looks hideous.
i'd still buy one though

Yeah, I thought it was supposed to sport the same style form factor as the MPx. If that pic is for real, it's quite a disappointment.

320x240? What? No....240x240 or 320x320 maybe. If the rendering is at all correct, that is a square screen and if you think about it, wouldn't a Blackberry competitor have a square screen?
UFG @ Dec 19th 2005 12:16AM
I don't know what resolution you're running, but that screen is OBVIOUSLY not square...

That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I have been waiting to upgrade my phone because of this whispered RAZRberry but if it looks anything like that, my wait was for nothing. Is it going to run windows still?

I need to know do they sell in the stock now? I want to know about this very soon...thank you for your time.

I hope that this form factor is just a trial balloon from Motorola that gets quickly killed. There are LOTS of candybar form factor smart phones to choose from. Just slapping the MOTO name on a blackberry form factor does nothing for me. There is no clamshell palm, MS or blackberry smartphone with QWERTY and bluetooth. Given the wild success of the RAZR clamshell format (and the belated acknowledgement from even Nokia that consumers like the clamshell), why abandon the clamshell? I had hoped that they were just going to slim down the MPX design, add a better processor and (for enterprise) I hoped offer a cameraless option. If someone from MOTO is listening, this thing misses the mark by a lot.

This is one of the two new Moto smartphones, unfortunately, the other one looks almost the same. However, they are only 2 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch, with a 2.4 inch LCD (from insider) - and, very thin. I cut a piece of paper like that, it doesn't look that bad as I first thought. BTW, the resolution of the LCD is 320X240.

Um... you all must be high! That's *obviously* a fake photo. How can I tell? Well besides the completely unnatural lighting, just look where the buttons are! Specifically look at the placemet along the left edge (how close it is to the actual, physical edge) then look at the right side. They are two completely different sizes! YEs, some devices (like the original iPaq had that but this is soooo obviously not the case!) Still doubt me? Just look at the much larger bevel on the right! I mean people... that isn't even *good* Photoshop! Sheesh! If this really is from Moto, it sure isn't from a 'real' device! Just an artist's rendering.
Mark [at] MarkDonohoe.com @ Dec 19th 2005 12:16AM
More ways to tell it's a fake. Look at the bottom edge of the device. It's blurry is the effect of widening pixels in an image program (the elongated fades at the bottom that aren't smooth) yet the buttons are crystal-clear (well they have the 'jpg compression jaggies' but no 'stretching' anyway.) And the fact that the screen is neither square, nor a 4x3 ratio further indicates it's a PhotoShop hoax. Trust me... even if the device is real, this ain't it folks!
