Sony takes Microsoft to the cleaners

We like it when big companies take their marketing battles to the streets, and, well, when those streets are in Paris, all we can say is vive la guerre! Turns out Sony opened a Paris showroom to hype the PSP, which, as we all know, has yet to be released in Europe. Microsoft smelled a marketing opportunity, and paid off the laundry across the street from the showroom to plaster itself with a giant Xbox 360 sticker, emblazoned "Gardez vos forces pour cet hiver," which translates roughly as "save your forces for the winter" — when, of course, the 360 will become available in Europe. Grande idée, Microsoft. But Sony one-upped the Américains by paying the laundry even more to take down the sticker. Today, the laundry is just a laundry, the Sony showroom is still a showroom, and, for Microsoft, it's a long time until cet hiver.
