Double the juice on your PSP with the X2
If you're not willing to get all bootstrappy on your games in order to conserve precious juice on your PSP's stock
1800mAh battery, behold the ever loving super ugly X2 3600mAh battery. It'll set you back $50 bones, but this might be
just the cure for those cross-continental battery blues.
[Thanks, Will]

Now if only there were new games to play on the PSP...
plutox @ Dec 19th 2005 1:02AM
....hmm...seen this already... looks interesting......and maybe actually worth it, there seems to be a lot of psp news lately
Ruiner @ Dec 19th 2005 1:02AM
For only a little more than a normal PSP battery, I could have one that doubles the juice? That's pretty cool!
MAIcrosoft @ Dec 19th 2005 1:02AM
i allready have the External 3800mAh Battery Pack , which is alot cheaper and has even more capacity

and since it works via the PSP adapter port you can play on highest screen brightness. I think if you have the standard psp battery and this thing, you probably have about 15 hours of fun : D The price is good too just $ 24.95 without shipping

I do like a good dollar-bone.
Lansing @ Dec 19th 2005 1:02AM
#1, you are so right, my psp is rotting right now, I want good games and I want them now. My battery has yet to run out since there is no game worth playing 3 hours straight (if that is even the time the battery lasts)
RELEASE GAMES NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feels like we are at the counter and Sony is trying to keep us busy by throwing piles of lettuce in our PSP sandwich in the form of UMD movies. What they need to do is crack the whip on those LAZY S.O.B. developers to get some GAMES OUT ALREADY. I am starting to get LINX flash back already ;^). I am sick of seeing TBD titles, and stop telling us how cool its going to integrate with the PS3 bla, bla, bla. I didnt buy a $250 PS3 controller (or did I?). Now lets get some Meat in that PSP already. GAMES, GAMES, GAMES!
markj @ Dec 19th 2005 1:02AM
my PSP doesnt use any batteries, since its in a shoe box until some decent games i dont already own on the ps2 come out. at least in the shoebox it doesnt get scratched to hell.
boynamedsue @ Dec 19th 2005 1:02AM
My psp is getting all kinds of use. On the Nes front i play dr. mario and bubble bobble all the time. I break up the pc doom port every now and then (still have to find my commercial version so i can play all three eps)
And just recently with the SCUMM emulator pretty much perfected i've been rocking out sam and max hit the road and day of the tenticle.
Its also my platform for watching my weekly family guy and battlestar episodes.
So yeah... shame on sony for releasing firmware that kills all this great stuff without actually offering anything to replace it except for UMD movies that cost way more than the dvd.
whoever actually buys those things are tools.

here's an interesting thing to do with a PSP
Well the Filipboys have done it again...
this time in 2 parts...

mike @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
okay.. so it has a shit battery life.. sony promised this would improve.. so a system that's already about $100 more than the DS .. now you can spend ANOTHER $50 to get a decent battery life.
PSP owners are insane.
boynamedsue @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
i don't know. i get over three hours of play. i guess in these future times that is seen as shit battery life. But the circumstance where i played a handheld video game for more than 3 hours in one day has not arrived yet.
If i'm really bored at work i might push it, but while i'm there its plugged in.

I love my psp - but if I am going to spend more than a couple of hours playing a game I am going to be in front of my PC.
I dont know if this is a comment on my lifestyle or the quality of PSP games.
Virtuous @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
The only way Sony makes $$$ on the PSP is from game and UMD sales. Sony loses $$$ on every PSP out the door. If you want to play Nintendo games get a Gameboy. I don't blame Sony 1 bit for cutting off emulation.
Mr E @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
17. I'm sure you mean UMD movies as the games are UMDs too.
Maybe if they actually spent time making good games instead of releasing firmware fixes, they wouldn't need to worry about emulations? You only need to emus when there's nothing better to play.
P.S. UMD movies are for tools who aren't savvy enough to figure out how to re-encode movies to memsticks.
theFuzzyWarble @ Dec 19th 2005 1:03AM
I agree with you 14! My DS has been sitting untouched for over a month an I just pick it up and play for at least 30mins here and there. The chateg seems infinite hehe. I rarely get to spend 3 hours+ on my PSP but I would like to think that I could. I've drop more than enough money on this thing already. $50 is alot for something that should have come with the unit to begin with. And some new GOOD games wouldn't hurt either.
