Introducing the K40 Bluetooth-enabled radar detector

Somehow, we think the folks at K40 Electronics were grasping a little when they decided to make their Calibre radar detector "Bluetooth-enabled." As far as we can tell, all the Bluetooth really does is let the system's two detectors — one in the front of the car and one in the rear — communicate with each other. No controlling the system via your cellphone, or downloading a log of blocked radar to your laptop. And since the Calibre remote control seems to be a basic RF job, we're not quite sure why K40 didn't just do the same with the two detectors. Could it be that someone at K40 heard about this Bluetooth stuff being the next big thing, and decided to add it to their product? Of course, as long as the Bluetooth doesn't interfere with the radar detector (and their frequencies are far enough apart that it shouldn't), it probably doesn't matter, though we'd like to imagine that some enterprising highway cop is even now working on a counter-measure to jam the Bluetooth link as Calibre-equipped cars speed by, or just snarf it like the Car Whisperer.
