6-megapixel LCoS set?

Brillian LCoS TV

I'm not too sure about the marketing on this one, so I'll let you help me decide. Brillian has launched what they call a "6-megapixel" LCoS high-def set. The set should hit the streets by end of year for around 8-grand.

Brillian advertises the output display of the 6580iFB as 1920 x 1080 and I'm cool with that. When I multiply the horizontal by the vertical I get 2.1 million pixels, which is exactly what I expect.

Here's the kicker though: Brillian is using three microdisplays for the set; one for each color. As a result, they say that this is really 6-megapixel resolution. I'd like to see this set in comparison to some other LCoS models to truly see if there is a difference. In my mind, a pixel is comprised of the combination of three colors, not one pixel for each color. What do you think: is Brillian's claim fact or fiction?
