Dell redefines "free" delivery

Dell D510

Dell must be facing some lean times, because they're eliminating free delivery on orders of low-end PCs in an attempt to rein in costs. Or rather they're eliminating free home delivery. They'll continue offering free delivery, it's just that beginning October 10th you'll have to pony up some extra cash if you'd like that budget Dimension desktop delivered all the way to your door. Otherwise you'll have to go pick your new PC up at your local post office. Having something held for pickup isn't a bad idea in and of itself, especially since there are definitely people who wouldn't mind swinging by the post office to pick up their packages in order to save a few bucks (as unpleasant as it can be to spend a half-hour standing in line), we just hope that Dell has a ton of fun explaining to customers the difference between "free delivery" and "free home delivery."
