RSStroom Reader concept prints up toilet paper news
The next time you've got to spend some quality alone time on the throne, make sure you've got an RSStroom Reader
handy to print you up some multi-use news items. We can't quite tell if it's outputting some two-ply quilted feeds, or
if it plans to keep us up to date with that generic single-ply brand, but with wireless connectivity, RSS 2.0/Atom
compatibility, and a browser based control panel, it should get the job done. Sure, this gag isn't for reals, but
c'mon, you know you want one.
[Thanks, Duncan]

All I have to say is: Paper jam -_____-

Even though this is a parody, I think this is genius.
The hardest part would be developing toilet paper that's tough enough to print on yet soft enough for..you know.

I still don't understand why we use paper to wipe our sphincters... A more sanitary and less wasteful solution is already among us my friends... isn't about time we embraced the bidet?
Weird Al @ Dec 19th 2005 2:31AM
7. I tend to only wipe on one side of the paper...so unless it's double sided printing then your white poopy hole should remain white.

Let's take this a step further. I declare a patent for an SMS bidet. When you go to the restroom you would set your phone profile Potty or such. Your bluetooth phone will direct your text messages to your bidet toilet where the text will be converted into Morse Code. Then a Morse Code water jet will shoot at your bunghole.

I know who would like to buy this: Just about every celebrity and have their favorite tabloid articles (about them) printed on it.
The Sun, News of the World (to name just 2 ugly ones from the UK) articles printed here. Hell, then you can make pictures of celebrities using this as well! hehehehe

I set something like this up actually... in my case, it wasn't for RSS feeds, but the script I wrote could be *very* easily modified for that. See, I work at a library, and my office/workroom is littered with old reciept printers, etc. We use a calendar system called Oracle Calendar (formerly Netscape Cal), and you can have it send you emails for all or some meeting reminders, and they all fit a certain format, something easily for my script to sniff out. So, when I get an email reminder, my script catches it, and PRINT PRINT PRINT it pops out. I played with having it print out emails with certain subject lines or other patterns to match, but I dont' actually use that functionality much. It's nerdy5 as hell, but fun, handy, and really was easy to setup. An RSS-based script would be even easier- take the RSS feed, make it into plain text, and dump the text to LPT1. that's about all yer doing.
