Get your Q now in "just 2 easy steps"
It is truly a great day for Verizon customers. The kind of day you'll tell your grandkids about. Fifteen years from now, people will be asking each other, "Where were you when the Q order link went live on Verizon's site?" Anyway, after "just 2 easy steps" -- committing two years of mobile freedom and your firstborn child -- the Motorola Q will cost you $199.99. Why are you still reading? Get 'em while the gettin's good.

anyone else been getting errors all night when trying to order this thing?
Right Device. Wrong Operator!
Yea you know the story if you are a regular here.
“How can I gimp thee? Let me count the ways”!
Friend Q, I will see you on the GSM/UMTS side ;^)...
Shafted...I can't get the early upgrade till it comes to the store. Do you ever feel like they don't care anymore after they get you in a 2 year relationship?
I read engadgetmobile regularly and listen to the engadget podcast, and i've always wondered what is so special about this Motorola Q? I don't see what makes it so much more anticipated than other smartphones. I understand that its a bargain with that instant rebate, but the fact that it would be at 199$ is only known for a couple of days, and engadget was raging since its first announcement, so could please someone tell me whats so special to this. thanks in advance
Ditto. Someone please explain to me whey this thing is better than the ppc-6700 or MDA?
4/5: Sex sells, and supposedly this thing is quite the looker.
It's slimmer and has the keyboard more like a BlackBerry. The MDA sorta sucks too, actually. Sluggish and only EDGE? Bleah.
I'm keeping my XV6700, though.
'sides, the "bargain" discount doesn't count for jack once they smack you with the $45 a month for internet access. Ah well... EVDO works well at least (I'm tethered on it right now, even!)
Errors all night indeed. It felt like they had a broken link in their cluster chain. Random errors at different times, and it was just plain slow throughout. But, I was able to break through close to midnight PST.
And as for the hype, I got caught up in it. I've heard too many good things about EV-DO and WinMo 5-O (shocking, yes) to pass up a moto-designed slim phone with a qwerty keyboard (sick of the mispelling machine that is the bb7100 series), camera, programmability (word?) etc. We'll just have to see if I can figure out a way to use it as a blackberry device at my blackberry-only company. Wish me luck.
I couldn't get thru on the computer, so I ordered by phone this morning. It was in stock, and since they ship from north jersey, which is near my house, they said I should get it Thursday or Friday. I'll let yous know how I like it.
am i the only one who thinks this phone is gonna suck?
the keyboard looks awful, it looks like the keys are going to be pretty rigid. the screen is smaller than some other phones out there. also, design wise: they kept the razr styling which worked well because of some smart marketing, but i for one, owned a razr for about 9 months, and couldn't stand it (design and UI). but people i met actually were impressed by it (this was way before it became so popular). imo, the big turnoff is the large spacing under the bottom keys... all thin motorolas share this same design design "flaw", since they make it so thin, they have to compensate by adding some length. fugly.
I just switched from Palm to WM5 (treo650 to xv6700)..
WM5 doesn't impress me, EVD0, is NOT that fast at all..
blah..if i stick with wm5 i might try this out..
I really can't stand the keyboard of the Q. I am so disappointed. I've used it for a while now and find it hard to use. The keys are slippery and hurts if you plan to use this device for email. Nice design but someone at Motorola let the designers run amok - what happened to usability?
I have found that although not advertised, you can load One Note 2007 to the new Motorola Q and it adds great functionality to the phone.
