LG.Philips slowing down LCD production

LG.Philips are slowing down their LCD production "to better balance short term supply with demand." Ah, that explains it with a rather nice spin on it. In truth their overall LCD shipments are expected to be about 50% less then previously announced. They blame it on weaker then expected seasonal demands. (World Cup maybe) That doesn't look good and when it is combined with a lower selling price per unit, things are starting to look bleak for the giant LCD manufacturers. Their EBITDA was once a nice 20% but has decreased to nearly 10%. LCDs are quickly becoming very competitive as other ventures increaseproduction, it is just natural to have some scaling back.
