Palm Treo 700wx for Sprint in the wild
The 700wx looks to be trickling into Sprint retail locations as we speak, and it seems everything we've been told about the device so far has been spot-on: it really is bound for Sprint, the addition of the "x" to the name is legit, and it rocks double the RAM (much to the chagrin of plain ol' 700w users everywhere), though we weren't necessarily expecting the big, scary floating head on the box. Still no solid word on an official availability date, but stores who've received them have apparently been instructed to keep them under lock and key until Sprint proper starts offering them, meaning the previously-reported August 27 date for business customers still seems perfectly plausible. Now if you'll excuse us, we have a Treo 750 rumor mill to attend to.

:-) How's about when YOU get done tampering with it, since you guys at engadget and engadgetmobile are so nice and love giving stuff away, donate it to the Magoo Needs A Treo 700wx Foundation??? (it's worth a try!)
ha
that guy looks like patrick stewart.
Note to self, get a phone with voice memos.
So I was about ready to buy a 700P, then I saw that the Q was going to be available on Sprint by the end of the year, and now this. What's a guy to do? Hmmmmm.
ok great, so should I sell my ppc-6700 and get a 700wx is the question?
Any advice
thanks

f-you palm....from a kinda upset verizon 700w user.
Wayne, I would say yes! I was an avid user of the TREO 650, I had it when they first came out, before EVERYONE had them... I would've kept it, but I got in a car accident, spilled an entire 42oz Coke from McDonald's on it, only thing really wrong with it, the e/1 key stuck!!! I have the PPC-6700 right now, I like the Treo better... Just matter of your opinion I guess. The Treo you can use with one hand or both, the PPC-6700 is too bulky, especially mine, because I have the extended battery...
If this is anything like my 650 stay well clear folks. I don't mean to be harsh but this was one purchase I have regretted. During phone calls I often get people on the other end of the line commenting on the poor quality. When I switch back to my old Nokia 6630 (using the same sim) they suddenly tell me 'Yeah, that's better. I can hear you know. What happened?'
If you want a decent phone with excellent voice quality buy a Nokia. Otherwise ...
'Hello? Can you say that again? The line's not very clear.'
I won't be touching anything non-Nokia again. Give a an E 50 instead.
Whats the retail price going to be?
To little too late, sprint is so slow to put out decent devices
Anybody notice that the built-in features list includes "GPS" ?!
