We've been at it since early 2004 (20 technology years), I think we've had enough time to figure out how to do our thing! It really does warm the cockles of my heart, though, to know how much people care about this brand we've built.

There have been some questionable posts as of late, which seemed to offend some, including myself. But I keep coming back every day. Great job, well deserved! Just don't let it stroke your (Engadget's) pride too much and it will be deserved year after year! :)
We are genuinely happy about the brand you built, and not at all jealous or upset that you're making nice living doing this. We just hope you guys keep your irreverent every-man attitude, and fun-loving way you do your job. Don't sell out! (Spiritually speaking, of course... I hope you make a ton of money doing this.)
Also, be nice to your little brothers at Gizmodo, they seem very sad that they didn't win.

its not nessecarily cause engadget is so good but cause gizmodo lick very much butt crack. they dont let anybody post on their site which is mucho annoying. but then again engadet is a beast and by that i mean the not hairy kind.

i agree i like yall cuz yall let everyone have a say and comment and even though i sometimes go to gizmodo i like engadget for one the site looks alot cleaner and gizmodo is just plain cheesy looking with pole strippers and sex toys thier more comical engadget is serious
now thier over there licking thier wounds just check thier recent subjects out on the main page it has a fat sumo guy as engadget i guess
engadget dont even stoop so low as to have a rakishi (x- wwf wrestler) or sumo style guy sitting on a toilet called gizmodo (giz-comode-o)

The reason you guys are the best is simple: you are great at what you do, but more importantly, you love what you do. It is obvious in the posts you make and the professionalism you show. Kudos; I hope one day to be on the other side receiving accolades from readers instead of giving them.
This maybe considered trolling, but the only reason I am commenting on here is to get Engadget to here me out. Engadget, I've been following you for a long time now since your site began and I even went to a couple get togethers of yours. I gotta tell you from a loyal reader, that your lucky someone hasn't come out and taken your crown. The advertising is KILLING ME. Not the fact that your making money which I wish you more of, but the fact that it takes aways your credibility. You have ads advertising for Apple when your commenting on how much better it is over Microsoft. You also have Verizon ads, which if I'm not so sure about, a couple years ago weren't WE ALL at war with Verizon and Sprint over bluetooth sniping. Come on Engadget watch your ads.
Lastly, get more technical. I am not talking about your How-To's which come from guest writers, but I am talking about your reviews which for the most part focus on Astetics instead of what really matters. I know what your saying, if I wanted technical I should just go to another site, but as a news site you would benefit greatly from getting more technical in your descriptions instead of just lame editorializing where you insult the company (thats easy to do when the company is microsoft).
Anyways, I wish you guys the best, and congrats again.
We have a strict separation between advertising and editorial. We don't believe Apple is better than Microsoft; a lot of people think we believe Microsoft is better than Apple, it's often a matter of personal perception. Either way I don't really care who's advertising on the site because it has absolutely nothing to do with my job. We've totally bashed companies that advertise with us, that's just how it goes!
Otherwise, we are also concerned with more than just aesthetics. I'm not entirely sure which site you're reading but we try and discuss the whole package, inside and out! There's more to any device than its case, but there's also more to it than a spec sheet, too.

To elaborate on Big C's comment, just keep that car ad off the site, I think it's a Chev. one...you know the one with the young brunette jumping and waving her hands, signaling you to "come here" and totally annoying the hell out of me from the corner of my eye just to get my attention...if I have to put up with that ad anymore I'm going to shoot myself...and that will result in a lost reader.
