We've always considered computers to be entertainment machines first, means to an end second, and tools for learning a distant third, so it's no surprise to see thrill-seekers everywhere squeezing every last drop of excitement from the recently-shipped OLPC XOs. While we've already witnessed someone getting their fix of 1992 by hitting up a few rounds of Doom, the latest case of "installing noneducational software on laptops geared for learning" involves none other than Super Mario himself, as a clever individual has not only got Super Mario Bros. 3 up and running on the XO, but captured a video of the feat as well. So go on and click through to sneak a peek yourself, you know you can't resist.
Samuel, I think thats a delay in the video, not the gameplay. When they cut out the "going to the first underground level" animation, you can hear a rustle of papers (or something like that) about two seconds after the cut in the video.

That's Super Mario Bros. 1.
Ha look at the package that hes holding it says "Super Mario Bros 3" on it...
yeah.. get your mario right.... thats pretty weak.....
Now poor kids can have roms like the rest of us!
If you continue to watch the video it goes from SMB1 to SMB3.
WHAT BETTER way to introduce Computer Novices to the computer... DOOM and GAMES!!!
**No better way... lol
So, is it the controls that suck, or the guy playing the games?
Wow, what a shock, it has enough juice to run an emulator...wow...
Is it my impression or during gameplay there is a huge delay in the game sound?
It feels that there is a 2 second delay on the sound effects from the game.

WOW!!
Did you guys pay 200 points?
Cause there's a bunch of RETARDS, or Wii-Tards paying real money for the stuff your playing for free on that OLPC XO thing a ma jig.
where the hell do i get one of these? i thought they were for poor children across the world, not nerds to play SMB on.
how are they getting these olpc'?
I want one of these to play with too now.
That's really cool.
It's actually 3 copies of Super Mario 1. Read the fine print!
For those not paying attention. The emulator is running the game way too fast.
