Hitachi's HMP-X5 DAP hits planet Earth

Hitachi, no stranger to the low-price, low-features game of small DAPs, has tossed another entry our way in the form of the HMP-X5. If you're easily excitable, don't worry, there's nothing here to set your heart a-flutter in this 2GB follow-up to the company's rebadged HMP-G1 -- unless an iPod-shuffle-like control gets you all hot and bothered. Features are about as standard as they come, including MP3, WMA, and WAV support, voice recording, USB connectivity, a monochrome LED display, and up to 16 hours of playback on a full charge. The player is set to ship on July 12th, so be sure to move out of the way when the stampede begins.
