Hellgate: London - character wipe for Asia
After some general issues worldwide, and some bonus issues with the Asian rollout particularly, Hellgate: London players in the Asia-Pacific region are in for a bit of a shock. Come Monday at Noon Hong Kong time (GMT+8), all characters are to be wiped completely from the Asian Hellgate: London servers.
Been having fun with your character? You have a few hours more to say goodbye to it before you lose it.
The issue is with the implementation of what is referred to as Patch0. The Asian servers (managed by IAHGames) aren't that far along yet, and apparently - for whatever reason, none of the character data can be migrated along with it (read: migrating the character data is too costly in time, or money or both).
The servers will be down for 8 hours for the wipe, implementation and testing to get Patch0 working on them. Is this going to happen again with Patch0.1? We can only hope not.
