We can't yet say for certain when Cingular will actually be selling the
Treo 750, but they do like announcing new devices at CES (or
not so new devices, as it were), and it looks like the US launch of the 750 is due this Sunday. Kind of a bore at this point, we know, but it doesn't look like they're going to be launching any other new Treos for CES, let alone the thinner, WiFi-enabled device we've all been waiting patiently for. In other words, learn to love it, and keep an eye out for the price and release date this weekend.

As much as I wanted this phone, I have lost interest in it. Unless they up the RAM and the resolution, plus give it WIFI and price it reasonably, then I may be interested in it. Otherwise, I'm having way too much fun with my Cingular 8525. Plus I'm wating to ge "hooked up" pretty soon with a Blackjack and a Pearl so I'll probably be too busy with these other phones to care about this long overdue Treo.

Agreed .
Mike @ Jan 3rd 2007 10:19AM
I disagree. I am sick to death of my AudioVox (HTC) XV6600 and I want the 750 via Verizon RIGHT NOW!!!
Mrfreezie @ Jan 3rd 2007 10:23AM
I'm not going to buy a new phone from Cingular until they change the name to AT&T.. Even though it doesn't really affect anything, having the wrong service provider badge on my phone bothers me.
brian @ Jan 3rd 2007 10:59AM
how deliciously shallow.
adam @ Jan 3rd 2007 12:47PM
I have this phone for Vodafone Netherlands. It rocks. Even if it is windows. Because of windows mobile it's not easy (impossible) to connect to mac. Can't even find the modem script to use as a 3G modem for powerbook.
Yoshi @ Jan 3rd 2007 4:01PM
That's silly
Jimbo Jones @ Jan 3rd 2007 4:02PM
I feel the same way
JD @ Jan 3rd 2007 7:04PM
Cingular already has been getting phones for testing with the ATT name and logo for 3 months. I suspect this will be launched with the ATT name on it.

Unfortunately, the device is still clothed in an overweight, super-sized, so 2000 shell. Plus it's nothing sexy and has the non-Mac supporting Windows OS. I'll pass. Former Treo 180, 270, 600, and 650 owner.
tizod @ Jan 3rd 2007 12:00PM
Mike - You are going to be waiting a loooong time. This is a GSM phone. No plans for a CDMA release.
nicleT @ Jan 3rd 2007 1:22PM
Agree with you bradbaldwin, you touch the right thing!
clericow @ Jan 3rd 2007 1:29PM
Connecting a windows phone to a mac is actually quite easy if you purchase "The Missing Sync" for $40 - syncs itunes, ical, mail, iphoto etc with your windows mobile phone
Joshua Ochs @ Jan 3rd 2007 3:19PM
Mac OS X users really should get Mark/Space's "The Missing Sync" whether you use Palm or Windows Mobile. It's light years beyond Palm Desktop - everything it should have always been. Aside from all of the other features, having a single address book that runs my computer, phone, e-mail, instant messaging, etc is killer.
Meanwhile, yes, the Treo needs to slim up its form factor. However, what are you going to give up for that? Do you really think you can add more features (WiFi, HSDPA, etc) and shink the size and battery and avoid compromises? Welcome to Engineering 101. Or Economics 101 for that matter.
bkessler @ Jan 3rd 2007 2:42PM
apeguero - Blackjack is shockingly incompetent compared to the Treos. 1/2 the processor speed, 1/3 the battery life, 1/2 the screen size. Sure, the treo is larger and less glamorous, but it's about 3x more usable. I'm gonna vote for useable every time.
Jimbo Jones @ Jan 3rd 2007 3:12PM
VIVA AT&T!
Kevin Smith @ Jan 3rd 2007 3:14PM
Hate to burst your buble, but I got a Blackjack last month when they came out and the phone is crap. The battery can't make it through a full day of normal talk and stand by and the ring volume is not user friendly as I am always missing calls, that never happened when I had the treo with Sprint, so as soon as they wheel this out I am going back to the Treo.
Ryan @ Jan 3rd 2007 3:20PM
Is there an internet package for this treo that is $20 a month?
Peter @ Jan 3rd 2007 5:17PM
I was waiting for this phone as I love Palm and love my 650, but I have already given up. Mostly I realized that the initial version of this phone would only be w/Windows Mobile, which sucks. I really like the Palm OS.
I just purchased a Nokia e61 (the intl version with wifi) and plan to use it for a while.
resource @ Jan 3rd 2007 6:05PM
From what I see there is no difference between this and the Treo 700W.
Palm is bullshitting with fake improvements like Apple with their last iPod.
Palm needs a Treo 800P with the new Palm software, Wi-Fi and slimmer profile if they can fit a good battery in a slim size.
If they aren't going to do that HTC Dash will take over, with the Dash 2.
Char @ Jan 4th 2007 7:08AM
I just got the 700w after complaining about my Razr phone for over a year. I really like the feel of the 700w - it fits nice in my hand and the weight makes it feel substantial. My husband got the Motorola Q and is regretting it already.
