Plextor releases the PX-HDTV500U USB HDTV tuner

We have seen USB HDTV tuners before but never from mainstream company like Plextor. It sports a USB 2.0 connection, flat antenna, ATSC and NTSC tuner, but no word on QAM. There really isn't anything special that we can see about their incarnation though besides maybe the software. They claim to have spent "significant amount of time" developing the interface so lets hope for something beyond the normal Windows style. Speaking of Windows, this is a Windows-only device and most computers will do for the NTSC tuning (P3, 256 MB of ram & 32 MB graphics card) but high-def viewers are going to need at least a P4 3.0 GHz, 512 MB of ram and a 128 MB graphics card. The tuner will hit the streets at $99.99 sometime in April.
