along with the "so how is this related to the iphone" on non-iphone news and britney spears' (.Y.), it is getting saggy and old... and i mean really, REALLY old...
No, I think you find complaints about satirical comments on this sites coverage of the iPhone are getting old.
With all due respect - iPhone's great and all, but after the novelty and hype wears off - i think they may have some spare stock.
There are a HEAP of free widgets already out there which go above and beyond the sexiness AND functionality of the iphone.
I mean - i just decked out my HTC Touch with Slide2Unlock & iPhone Contacts (just google these), so that gets the nice slide effects and transitions out of the way.
Next, i came across a beta program at yoober (http://www.yoober.com), and now have a sexy messaging interface, that lets me send free text messages as well! (mind you, not to many people as i could only invite 10 at this stage)
But the point is many of these "Mobile 2.0" apps are based on JAVA, so why in the world did Apple not include Java into the iPhone - If personalisation is the flavour of the day, then i think Apple may have shot itself in the foot!
It looks as if Yoober only works if the other person is also on a data plan on connected to the internet. =/
Yoober sounds more like mobile AIM, except with fewer people signed up (and therefore, on) to message. I like that, with SMS, I can bug someone whenever that person's cell phone is on, not just when they are "online."
We'll see...the Nokia N95 costs $750 & you have to add apps to it to get a somewhat faux iPhone user experience?
It cost $250 bucks more than the low end iPhone & $150 more than the 8 gig iPhone. No storage to speak of really.
You can add more memory but that also means more money added on to what is already a $750 phone.
Hey Booyaka, - yes, actually, i do have a data plan, but in asia, even pay as you go is really cheap. I'm not sure how all that stuff works over in the US? It's all CDMA there isn't it?
It's GSM (like the iPhone) and CDMA.
GSM includes AT&T and T-Mobile, while CDMA includes Sprint and Verizon.

Oregon and the entire west coast are all sold out. Even Nevada. The closest Apple store with an iPhone in in Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City was sold out before 9:00AM! I went down this morning to pick one up and they had over 75 people lined up to buy one. They say the line started at 5:30! I guess I wait for the next shipment and get there early!
all lies, there are plenty iphones available, they never ran out of stock, just they have to keep up the hype, because noone is buying them anymore

I love how every comment against the iphone is low ranked. What a bunch of apple fanboys. Let's face it, apple released a product that simply doesn't work for its customers and they released it on the worst network possible. The people who switch carriers for this phone are truly sad, It's like the 15 year old girls with rich parents or hip hop listiners who would switch to T-Mobile simply for the razr.
It seems to be working just fine from the standpoint of sales & reviews of the phone around the net.
Yup, fake shortage. One million down, two million to go. Guess Apple should sell them all by September.
I think the inventory tracker on apple.com is completely bogus. The night before I bought mine (July 3) it was showing all stores in the DC area to be sold out for the next day, but when I went in, there were plenty. I think it helps hype and the buy impulse when people think something is selling out or is available in limited numbers. Girl scout cookies are a perfect example. Are they that good? No. Would I eat them if I could get them all the time? Probably not. Do I buy 20 boxes when they sell them anyway? Damn me, I do.
All this talk of sell outs and limited stock is bogus, I tell you. This is how DeBeers keeps prices high on a commodity like a diamond. Companies have been doing this for years.
I think apple is just pushing the stock price up with that stupid little "inventory tracker."
Why would you go to a store to buy a product that is sold out?
I guess if you think that you are the ONLY customer & were forced to read the article you would be justified. Guess I believe in making my own choices. I must be old school.
Why don't you guys just start a damn page to keep track of this instead of posting a new post every freakin day? I know gadget news might be slow after the iPhone release but I DON'T CARE if the iPhone is in stock or not....I STILL ain't getting one! SHEESH!

The attitude you have is you just read what you care about but when you see the latest iPhone news everyday on Enadget it gets old....REAL FAST.
Sorry if I think that the customer (ie, the READER) is always right. I guess I must be old school.
Since you're living in a cardboard box why would we expect you to get an iPhone? I'm sure the homeless have priorities. You use the library computer and the street-corner payphone. That's the proper way to do things in your position. Within a week, all the shelters will have an iPhone supply listing tacked on the job board, so no need to check back here.
IPhones are meant for those that can afford one, so don't sweat it.
weird my buddy picked up an 8gig last night in mission Viejo mall in SoCal
I ordered one the night of launch and asked for overnight deliv.
They say it was sent yesterday but I'm not gettting it until Monday. WTF am I paying for?
Of course, it's coming directly from China but still.

As of 11PM the 6th, Apple's site shows about half the stores in Cali have units in stock for the 7th...

I'm sure there's plenty of iPhones to go around. There may not be enough people to route them at the warehouses they're stored in. That's probably was causing the delay. Providing there really was three million iPhones available at launch. That might have been a fabrication. As far as nobody is buying iPhones, I find that very unlikely. They might not be moving as fast as predicted, but as soon as Paris Hilton starts carrying one, Apple will sell millions. I'll bet she can use her tongue to flick and swipe that multi-touch screen like a champ.
