Hello Kitty claims two more Epson laptops
It's bad (or good, depending on perspective) enough that Hello Kitty has claimed one Epson laptop as its own, but now fanboys and girls can select two other A4 machines to flesh out their collection. Aside from touting heaps of monogrammed cuteness, these machines reportedly weigh in at 6.6-pounds and include a 1.73GHz Intel Celeron M processor, 80GB of hard drive space, 1GB of RAM, and Windows Vista. Seems a little weak considering the ¥189,000 ($1,640) price tag, but it's hard to assign a dollar value to such a design scheme, right? Click on for another color.

oh my god, please don't let my fiance' see this...
Nuke 'em from orbit.
It's the only way to be sure.
true, true...
question: do they come with a Super Mega Cool Hello Kitty Cuddly Bubbly Pink Vista Theme?...
damn, there's no limit to gay
didn't a study find that women and girls are less likely to buy a pink device than a neutral device (eg grey or black) if the only thing differnt between the two devices is color?
it's too niche to suceed in the US, but i guess over there where epson acctually makes somehting other than pretty-good to good quality printers it'll catch on (they seem to like hello kitty there... for some reason or another...)
anywho, i think that this is a gross misuse of design. Why can't we have laptops with good designs on the covers? like the apple logo (i kid of course)!?!?
lol .. imagine pulling this out at a BoD meeting..
I can always count on engadget for all my Hello Kitty news :-)
I am in the tech industry, and I love Hello Kitty! I would definitely buy that here in the U.S. if the cost wasn't too much higher than a neutral colored laptop. I don't understand why there aren't more color and design options as it is! I'm so over black and silver.
I will never understand the facination with Hello Kitty.
Could it be because you're male?
shut it, bitch
so, when you're a ceo or just another semi-important person at a board meeting, all of your coworkers will have something to laugh at...
then again, i wonder how a CEO's underlings would react? you NEVER poke too much fun at the boss.
"hey, nice laptop. GAY." best way to get fired.
(followed by the, "did I say "gay?" what i meant was.. amazing, and soo savvy...")
oh, and:
i don't know what's worse/gayer, all the hello kitty news there is to cover, or that engadget covers it ALL.
thanks engaydget, for all our day-to-day hello kitty coverage.
(screw apple news, can i opt out of hello kitty? there's FAAARRRR too much! or, can i just go the distance and opt out of 'gay'?)
Is that the new Macbook Pro?
Yes, it is. And Steve Jobs thinks its gorgeous.
i don't get it.
1. buy your own regular laptop
2. get sticker paper from any stationary store.
3. print out your favorite background.
4. stick it on!
why does one have to pay for these extra schemes?
fangirls/boys will pay more for official merch. its not all about how something looks.
I still love that Leipzig "Halo Kitty" shirt, Master Cheif with a bow in his helmet? Win.

um, Epson makes laptops? wow. this is so '12-y/o' ... i can't understand the fascination. Give me a BLACK laptop ... make it shiny please.
Wow...just wow
oh no... another two laptops falling victim to the merch
goodbye, kitty.
well judging by the immense success of other epson computers...this should be a flop.

The only thing worse then having one of these is having one of these with Vista on it.
