Dell Latitude XT manual appears online, tablet still MIA
We've been hearing that Dell's latest tablet, the Latitude XT, was supposed to hit this week, but here we are with nary a peep -- except for the shockingly uninteresting 245-page user manual that's just popped up on Dell's site. In addition to detailing such revolutionary features as the AC power adapter, wireless on / off switch, and keyboard status lights, it's also got one more nugget of info: it looks like Dell will be shipping a Core Solo version, which should make for scintillating performance when paired up with the integrated AMD RS600 graphics on this thing. Apart from that, it looks like those specs we saw a couple weeks ago were right on the money, so only the hardest of the hardcore need hit the read link to snag the entire PDF.

According to Page 49, it looks like they also have an LED backlit screen option, in addition to the Dual-bulb CCFL LCD.
Hey, it knocks off 1/5" off the thickness at least!

I just wish they would hurry up and release it. I've been waiting months for this exciting new tool.

Hi,
In the manual there is no word about multitouch ??!!
wickedpheonix @ Dec 4th 2007 1:02PM
once again, why would I get one of these over the Lenovo X61 other than multitouch? Pretty much everything else about the XT is worse than the Lenovo tablet... something I really look forward to when I get my Lenovo tablet next summer is that tablet sleeve that lets you have access to the X61 while carrying it around like a bookbag. Am I going to have something like that for the XT? Probably not. I don't remember if the XT has a Wacom sensor but I know the X61 does, that's a plus for me as well...

I called and was told that the XT is available in the US as of yesterday (the 3rd). Let's try to order one and see how that goes...

page 44 on the specs mentions 32GB SSD availability. . .later on shows built in broadband with a real antenna coming out the back (that collapses inside). No hump antenna on the screen.
