It's large, it's in charge... it's hot swapping. That's right kids, the ReadyNAS duo is fully prepared to store your pics, game, gigantic Word files, and "videos," and let you access it whenever, wherever. Or so they claim. Sure, the thing isn't that pretty up close, but RAID storage isn't about being pretty, it's about some other, more important stuff.
It looks like room for only two HDs so we can do the math on max storage. It mentions HDTV streaming and since their other ReadyNAS's have gigabit, I don't know why this one would be different. Of if this thing only have room for 4 HDs I'd be on it.
This is a 2-bay ReadyNAS, with no apparent feature differences from the rest of the line. While I've sold several clients on ReadyNAS boxes with two drives, and they do (usually, though not always) continue to work with a single drive failure, removing a drive and continuing to function is only half (or maybe 1/3) of the battle. Putting the drive back in or replacing it with another one without a power cycle will hang the box or corrupt your data. Also, while the box should boot with the drive you just pulled (and stored offsite for backup purposes), it's not clear how well that works in practice. Hopefully they'll spend some resources getting their firmware up to snuff and spend less time adding (broken) features. Any idea how big the external power brick on the Duo is?

porn?
yup and 1080p ones
Is it too much to ask for some specs??? Like max capacity, interfaces, network speed, transfer rates?

Oh, c'mon... it's CES, man! It's all about the toys.
Who cares how (or if) the actually work? ;-)

meh.
I prefer using a mini pc (120watt -500celeron) with 300gb drives it it instead.
unless of course this NAS drive can download torrents? but it can't so ... moving on.
"the drives include built-in support for BitTorrent as well"
