Interested in hitting up internet radio on your iPhone with a sleek interface? For those with unmodified iPhones that are already turning away sheepishly, come on back. FlyTunes is simply a web application accessible via Safari, which allows users to customize stations on their PC / Mac and then login and listen from the phone. Also of note, it can queue up to a half hour of music should you want to listen for awhile after leaving an EDGE / WiFi-covered area, and if you're wondering how much coinage you'll have to lay down to get in on this, you'll be stoked to hear it's free. Onward, to the video!
I finally got my flytunes account. So far, pretty impressed. Loads quickly, sounds good, simple enough to use. You have to have an iphone (or ipod touch) to use it. I think it's supposed to be available for other PMPs soon.
Yeah that iPhone stuff is pretty neat. Speaking of pretty, Veronica Belmont is very pretty.. I love it when she says her name, which she does a lot, so that's good too..
This sounds great, can't wait to try this on my iphone.
Also I'm starting to wonder if anybody on engadget has ever been with a woman. Yes Veronica Belmont is a good looking girl but she's no Jessica Alba or somebody of that sort.
It's like nobody has ever seen an attractive person before on this board.
"FlyTunes works with Macintosh or PC computers, and will be released as a free download..." - Doesn't sound safari-web-based to me... particularly since they also claim it works when you're not connected to the internet.
You are forgetting this is a gadget blog, I have other hobbies like racing cars etc but most of the people on this boards problay enjoy a friday night with guitar hero vs getting laid and hangin out with chicks.. Man i miss those days im basically married now.
PS she is hot, not in a Jessica Alba way more like a Jennifer Love Hewit hot ( well not recently ) but you get the picture!
actually she is "just" cute. Girl next door type. Sister to your friend type. The kind of girl you might want to spend the rest of your life with type. Not the Hollywood, hard body, professional beauty type. But then that is a good thing. Being older, and married, I find her type more to reality than the plastic blonds on the big screen.
Am I the only one fed up with the comments about Ms.Belmont? Nothing against her... in fact I do agree that her presence is refreshing. But every article she features in is dominated by comments about her.
and btw Jessica Alba is NOT hot.. I guess I have to be a white 16-34 yo. male to understand.. and before you start with the racial undertones.. Im white and 35..
Not to distract anyone from the 5th grade girl ooogling.... But, in the video she says it's available now, but when I go to the website it isn't available until Jan 21st. What's up with that??
enuff with the headshot with veronica...we need engadget to lower the cam a bit and also focus on her boobs. please engadget...post the next pix of veronica standing sideway and her pointing to the gadget so we can see her boobs size.
Ms. Belmont is a hottie! But i'm kinda getting sick and tired of seeing her holding every gadget. Your at CES to show us gadgets, not to show us you holding gadgets. Talk about attention whores.
Uh... would you prefer I NOT show you the gadget? Or maybe just leave it on a table and not show how it works? And I'm being an "attention whore" for doing my job, which is doing videos at CES of GADGETS?
Wait, why am I even responding to this comment? *goes back to chugging coffee and reading feeds*
chug your coffee and ignore the haters all you want (and naysayers, and immature commenters, and etc), you've earned it. btw, your CES videos are pretty sweet and I think I've indirectly become a fan (and now viewer) of Mahalo Daily
Originally from Connecticut[citation needed], Veronica is the daughter of Barbara Belmont (née Wruck), a former Coleco Vice President, and a father that worked for Hasbro[citation needed]. Growing up, Veronica had a subscription to Weekly World News and Mad Magazine, and had one wall of her bedroom covered in MAD covers.[1] She attended Emerson College, in Boston, Massachusetts, to study audio production and new media studies. She worked briefly in Boston afterwards, and eventually secured an internship at CNET. Veronica currently resides in San Francisco, California with her boyfriend Ryan Block, editor-in-chief of Engadget.
it's possible that the publicity it's gotten overloaded them a bit and they decided to bump it back to make sure their servers don't crash or something.
This is great. The only thing getting more attention than the iPhone is this girl. If this girl gave the MacWorld keynote and announced the new iPhone was coming out next week the first 3 posted comments would be "yer cute", "i wanna be on you", and "iLove you".
With Orb (http://orb.com) I can listen o any internet radio (I can add my own), and to all the music that sits on my home machine. It's available for months as well as the optimized version for the iPhone browser...
I'm sorry I mentioned that I thought V is cute in my original post. I never remember how harsh some people can be online for no reason, especially since they would never act that way in "real" life. Keep up the good work Veronica - you obviously know your stuff.
“The general size and shape certainly calls forth memories of the Centro, but while the previous version was chunky and playful, the Pixi comes off more like its distant cousin... from the year 3000.”
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.

Sounds cool. The iPhone just keeps getting more tempting. Rev 2 can't come soon enough.
Oh, and count me as a Veronica Belmont fan. Those girl-next-door types always appeal to me.
Now it can do something that my xv6700 could do with Resco Radio two years ago. I don't even need a subscription.
Yeah that iPhone stuff is pretty neat. Speaking of pretty, Veronica Belmont is very pretty.. I love it when she says her name, which she does a lot, so that's good too..
She's pretty and all, but watch out for her cousin Richter, he's pretty tough man, he carries a whip.
Sweet! Now, to find out if any of the stations are decent..
God shes so hot!
yeah but...
will she blend?
This sounds great, can't wait to try this on my iphone.
Also I'm starting to wonder if anybody on engadget has ever been with a woman. Yes Veronica Belmont is a good looking girl but she's no Jessica Alba or somebody of that sort.
It's like nobody has ever seen an attractive person before on this board.
You`re right I guess. It's just that she's so hot, you know..
you're missing the point. jessica alba is hotter, but what is sexier than a woman who loves gadgets?
Two women who love gadgets?
Jessica Alba had gadgets in Dark Angel
Joe. You must understand, for men who enjoy tech-- geeky cute girl > cute girl. It becomes more than looks, it becomes shared interest.
My WIFE plays video games with me, man. And she's usually the one to initiate the activity. In my experience, that's rare, and thats valuable.
Ooh. How about Jessica Alba and Veronica sharing my gadget interest *together* !!
Wait... one of them is pregnant!!! Uh.. i'm thinking.
"FlyTunes works with Macintosh or PC computers, and will be released as a free download..." - Doesn't sound safari-web-based to me... particularly since they also claim it works when you're not connected to the internet.
It's safari based on the iPhone/iPod touch side, I believe.
Joe,
You are forgetting this is a gadget blog, I have other hobbies like racing cars etc but most of the people on this boards problay enjoy a friday night with guitar hero vs getting laid and hangin out with chicks.. Man i miss those days im basically married now.
PS she is hot, not in a Jessica Alba way more like a Jennifer Love Hewit hot ( well not recently ) but you get the picture!
...Hot in a Maura Tierney way

Not the Hollywood, hard body, professional beauty type. But then that is a good thing. Being older, and married, I find her type more to reality than the plastic blonds on the big screen.
Sure she knows how to use an iPhone but can she play Doom?
Yes, actually. She can.
Yep... And I heard she is pretty good at that too...
Am I the only one fed up with the comments about Ms.Belmont? Nothing against her... in fact I do agree that her presence is refreshing. But every article she features in is dominated by comments about her.
Seems like not many of you get laid.
sheesh..
You're right -- she's cute!
Hey man... i get laid...
but then again im not commenting about her....
So true... It's sad...
meybe because she's dominant in the picture?
She can be dominant in my picture any day...
"Mahalo Daily's Veronica Belmont"
If XM buys Flytunes, then I'm buying an iPhone.
-"Whoo Whoo Robin, I Invented Satellite Radio"
Oh shit, a woman doing demonstrations on electronics? HOT HOT HOT...
For the love of god people, go the fuck outside.
anyway she's hot
She's got that "waitress at Steak 'n Shake" kind of hotness.
Boasts that you are a "playa" and get laid every night made on a technology blog instantly make the statement false.
ROFL Todd ! so true !
ha, that made me choke on my coffee
i'm actually finding this whole thing funny about Veronica, it's totally taken the focus off the biggest 4 days of the tech year on Engadget
...with guys like this.
Is it any wonder I prefer women..?
Woah, that's so hot Miranda!
*pictures Miranda making out with Veronica*
...oh, dear god.
This site a sunk to new lows... O_O'
I prefer people who don't hold an entire chunk of humanity accountable for the actions of a few of its members.
I'd hit that.
Great app for the Iphone..
and btw Jessica Alba is NOT hot.. I guess I have to be a white 16-34 yo. male to understand..
and before you start with the racial undertones.. Im white and 35..
Veronica, Will you marry me?
Not to distract anyone from the 5th grade girl ooogling.... But, in the video she says it's available now, but when I go to the website it isn't available until Jan 21st. What's up with that??
Since FlyTunes runs on the Web browser, might it work on a BlackBerry?
so... www.pandora.com doesn't work on the iphone?
No. That uses Flash.
enuff with the headshot with veronica...we need engadget to lower the cam a bit and also focus on her boobs. please engadget...post the next pix of veronica standing sideway and her pointing to the gadget so we can see her boobs size.

Easy gents and take your hands out of your pants. I believe she's the gf of a certain engadget editor-in-chief
Ms. Belmont is a hottie!

No! Don't go! Stay here and show me more gadgets! :)
Welcome addition to Engadget if you ask my opinion.
I like the way she says, "Third party app." THAT is hot!
@Veronica
chug your coffee and ignore the haters all you want (and naysayers, and immature commenters, and etc), you've earned it. btw, your CES videos are pretty sweet and I think I've indirectly become a fan (and now viewer) of Mahalo Daily

Yeah what gives...it says the 21st on the site, must be a typo...damn i really wanted to try this out too...
it's possible that the publicity it's gotten overloaded them a bit and they decided to bump it back to make sure their servers don't crash or something.
Yeah that could be, its definitly running in the demo.
This is great. The only thing getting more attention than the iPhone is this girl. If this girl gave the MacWorld keynote and announced the new iPhone was coming out next week the first 3 posted comments would be "yer cute", "i wanna be on you", and "iLove you".
Available right now? Their site is just a signup page. Available 01.21.08. Sort of misleading to say it's ready to go..
You all do know that Ryan Block is in a relationship with Veronica (says Facebook), don't you?
All these comments just don't seem right...
I agree. All these comments about Veronica's hotness are disrespectful and completely irrelevant.
(I'd do Ryan too, if that makes you feel better.)
or you could just go to www.thestreamcenter.com for windows mobile users

Leave Britney alone!... er I mean Vernoica.
Why does their website say the iphone is 3G?
I'm sorry I mentioned that I thought V is cute in my original post. I never remember how harsh some people can be online for no reason, especially since they would never act that way in "real" life. Keep up the good work Veronica - you obviously know your stuff.
waiting for my email so i can use this!, only 5000 people accepted at a time at the moment
