nice.
No, no I believe Matthew Broderick's lowest point in his career was Inspector Gadget
and I thought Matthew Brodderick career was made only of lowest points
Eh?....how long is this break, wheres the video?
In case any one is confused by this posting, that's Mahalo Daily's Veronica Belmont giving the thumbs up.
priceless comment! ha ha!
Ya I was wondering about that...
Snide comments aside, I've watched and enjoyed a few of Ms Belmont's reports over the past few days.
Admittedly not knowing what sort of gig Mahalo Daily is, I hope she moves on to bigger and better things, the lady's got some gadget reporting talent.
That comment gets 2 thumbs up!
She belongs on TechTV.
Nah, I'm just pointing at it with my thumb.
That girl is hawt!
Amen, but, get a life.
she is a cutie
wow BluRay players can do something boring that every single HDDVD player could do.
How is this exciting?
Proud HDDVD owner (soon to be Blu owner)
I think the break is broken!
Yet the same feature that has been available on HD DVD from day 1 was dismissed. Talk about hypocritical.
hd-dvd??? what's that?
But, but, but, it is Blu-ray. It is so much better than that HD Dud. I mean, Sony is behind it and the next generation does not start until they say it does, and it is so technically advanced, I mean, there is BD+ so that we can keep those evil people from copying files onto their own media server (not for distribution, just for themselves, forget that people are clamoring for this in their music [MP3 == bad]), and it has region encoding so people can't watch foreigh films (keeps those horrible U.S. people from experiencing culture), and it has that magical cancer curing Java in it, and it costs more for a player (come on, who does not like to pay more to Sony?), and you get to buy another player in a few months to get all those new features, and you should want to pay more money for a player to keep that J6P "normal person" riff-raff out, and it is so great, that Sony didn't pay those studios $500MM, the studios paid them that much just for Sony allowing them the honor of putting their movies on it, and, and, and, oh, you are just a paid M$ shill. Go away, you lost, Go Blu-ray!!!!
Oh yea, $150MM to Paramount to switch because I heard some rumor that was denied by Paramount, but they are liars. The took the money because I read it on the internets, and there is nothing false on the internet (unless they say HD DVD is good, then they are lying).
Yeah, it seems someone got the whole idea out on Day 1 while the "leader" is still playing catch up and laughing all the way to the bank with the desperately needed cash from all those folks that may end up buying 3 of their players to the loser's 1. Way to go technology er, marketing.
Who, exactly, is being hypocritical? Engadget? They've been trumpeting HD-DVD along with BD from day one. Blu-Ray consumers? We *still* don't care about this crap.
There's nothing "hypocritical" here. It's just another feature that nobody will use. The fact that it's now on Blu-Ray doesn't change that.
Yaaawn. Yes, HDVD had all the bells and whistles up and running on day one (or two) but they didn't have the FORMAT. If DVD had HDi today, and Bluray didn't get these corny options till next week, would that mean that DVD is better?
HDVD was always built as a stopgap format. Originally planned with red laser and more compression (till that mean company said they were going to release a real next gen format) and using recycled DVD technology. It was always designed to be 'good enough'. The majority of the world has decided that it is not good enough. We want a format that has the capacity, bandwidth and industry support to make it and keep it a viable format for years to come.
Dang!!! Veronica is fine!!
amen!
Err ..where is this video folks??
Why is this girl the subject of the picture and not Blu-ray? I feel like we are being taunted at every opportunity.
Out of curiosity,, are people commenting so much on these pictures as a joke,, or do you want everyone to know you like girls... seriously, is this like an inside joke now or do you guys really feel the need to keep saying it
I commented a couple of times today and yesterday as a joke, but it got old fast. I'm sure some people are still serious about it, though there seems to be a bit of a backlash going on right now.
That said, I feel kind of bad for her at this point - in the beginning, it was something new to have this chick narrating Engadget videos and that was worthy of comment. Now, though, it's just getting weird having every post she's in end up being totally about her. And it's not her fault. She's just doing what she's being asked to do.
It's also kind of sickening seeing some of the posts alternately either *completely* objectifying her or now that the backlash has started, calling her "ugly". (For the record, I think she's pretty cute, and she's got a comfortable presence in front of the camera.) I'm sure that's just a form of jealousy talking, but it's still annoying - I mean, I'll bet she's reading some of these comments. If you are, Veronica, don't take anything you see here personally. Most of these guys have never even seen a girl before. Some aim for a compliment and miss completely, others have to try to show the rest of us how much of a man they are by arguing that their imaginary "girlfriends" are better looking.
Anyway, soon CES is going to be over and everything will be back to normal.
Jeff's post was entirely inspired by the thought she might be reading it, and by suddenly pretending to be the 'concerned and better and I'm different and understand you' guy have her running to him.
Of course that trick often works so you can't blame him.

I've had enough of Veronica.
Honestly, I feel like i'm looking at a myspace page rather than a gadget site.
Haha!
Some might say this is the best Veronica video so far. Those being the ones that hate her and all.
veronica es una DIOSA HOT
veronica es una DIOSA HOT
Veronica is the real attraction at CES.
oh and nice uh gadgets and stuff i guess
Patel is too busy holding David Caruso's hands...check it out after the break!
What break?
great stuff!
Wait for it... wait for it...
haha well, Don't forget that Veronica is the long-time girlfriend of Engadgets's editor-in-chief... they are walking around CES together , and also why all of engadget's video postings are done through veronica's site mahalo.
My wife is much hotter than this chick, then again this one does like gadgets and is at CES.... which makes her hotter than my wife.
Truely awesome video!
http://www.mahalo.com/Sony_BD_Live for those of you looking for the link.
Ah, thats it im so tired of Mahalo Daily's Veronica Belmont that im gone go to gizmodo for the rest of CES.
So I see lots of "Veronica is hot" notes on these posts but I'm wondering: Is her face really necessary in all these shots? Is it bringing in viewers? There are a bunch of guys I'd like to know what they look like (Paul Miller- seriously- what's this guy look like?). Or is it that Veronica doesn't know how to use a camera.
If I want female ogling comments I head over to Gizmodo.
As for Matthew Broderick's low point- how could you pick just one? It's been a steady spiral since War Games/Ferris/Ladyhawk.
Does anyone know the percentage of engadget readers that are still virgins?
What is the percentage of women readers? Subtract that from 100% and you have your answer.
Are you claiming all women that are nerds still get laid?
Hey, I'm kingjew@gmail.com and I am the worst possible kind of troll.
