Dash Express ships to pre-order customers on March 27th
Just a quick word out there to Dash Express early adopters (and anyone else considering the new GPS system), units are shipping a little later than expected. Specifically, they'll be going on March 27th to pre-order customers, so keep an eye on that mailbox next month.

Invited and passed.
$600 without the service fee (after 3-months)? That's treading on UMPC territory.

Their software is pretty unique, and I don't think TomTom or Garmin really matches them in that respect.

free gps is getting expensive

Shouldn't that read "units are shipping a little LATER than expected"?

Yep, my bad. Thanks!

Two dislikes:
1) The way it's shaped, I can't take it out and carry it with me in my pocket.
2) Unclear whether it has bluetooth
Anyway, it's decent and useful tech their bringing .. I wish they license their tech to cell phone makers too. Personally I'd prefer mounting my iPhone on the dash (if it had GPS and these features).

Just wanted to add, the reason I'd want to carry it with me is if I were in bad neighborhoods etc. I don't want people breaking into the car to steal the GPS.

in new york you pretty much have to take it with you right now. GPS is the new hot item for thieves. just like looking for the white headphones to steal ipods, they are looking for suction cup marks and brackets to break into cars for GPS

Still no pictures or photos of the 3D view, still no clarification on whether or not it has Bluetooth (my guess is a negative), still a crummy form factor, etc. The tech was killer when the product was first announced, but they took so long to get it to market that it's just not so killer anymore. Certainly not for the price. Garmin and TomTom are not far behind on this stuff.
I was gung-ho trying to get in their pilot program back when it came out, but I won't by buying one of these.

All - This is Mark from Dash. I wanted to answer some of the questions here. The Dash Express does not have bluetooth, but I am happy to report that anyone who steals a Dash device is a moron since we will wirelessly send software to the device that shuts down the units and makes it non-functional.
As a side note, I just started a series of posts over at blog.dash.net where we will be detailing the device functionality, so if you have a feature you want details around be sure to head over there and request it.
