Flip Minos coming on June 4?

People sure do love them some Flip Video cameras, and it looks like the company is getting set to cash in on that popularity with a new model dubbed the Minos, which was recently spotted in a B&H catalog with a due date of June 4. It's not clear what the Minos will offer over the existing Flip except a $179 price tag and your choice of a black or white casing, but here's hoping Flip handles all that fame responsibly -- no one want to see this guy go all Elvis and feature-bloated, you know?

This looks like it is a miniturized version of their current product. 'Minos' as in mini, and notice the size of the lens compared to the body to figure out how large it may be overall. This look like it could be pretty cool.

Looks a lot slimmer than the current Flip - here's hopping it has a bigger screen, more storage and/or Li-ion battery.

One of the best features of the Flip is the standard AA batteries. I hope they don't change that.

Flip '08-'09 product roadmap: Flip Ariadne, Flip Androgeus, Flip Deucalion, Flip Phaedra, Flip Glaucus, Flip Catreus, Flip Acacallis.

But seriously, Flip's ability to do a lot with relatively little is something that both [insert Japanese camcorder brand] at the high end, and Creative/Aiptek/etc. at the low end, could learn from.
