Wooden mousepad works great with wooden mice
What better to complement a wooden mouse (and wooden keyboard, for that matter) than a wooden mousepad? Nothing, that's what. This masterfully constructed jewel not only brings the tree to your workspace, but it's slightly angled for ergonomic pleasure and can likely be used upside-down in a pinch. Yeah, the $60.31 sticker makes this thing absurdly overpriced, but your wooden PC just wouldn't be complete without it.

I find a wooden desk tends to lend a far better surface for my mouse. Having said that, I hate that my mouse wears away its varnish and ultimately ruins the desk.
This is a good idea, only I wish it were a little larger.

Just get a new mouse! I highly recommend Razor mouses and Logitech mouses.
UKNigel @ May 22nd 2008 12:16PM
I took your suggestion Shinigami, and bought a new mouse. Much to my surprise, the mousepad did not get any bigger!

I'm not usually the environmentalist type - but these things kill trees! I sure hope they grow tree farms fast enough. They better not be cutting down rainforests!

Did you hear about the desk ?! I hear it's also made of wood
Alex @ May 22nd 2008 1:16PM
The desk that this very computer I'm typing on is on a plasticcy-coated type stuff.
7 years and 4 computers later, there isn't a worn away hole where the mouse is.
I reckon I can do without a mousemat now.

Having the pad at the edge of the table like that angers the God Ergonomica.
edosan @ May 22nd 2008 9:52AM
I will gladly sell anyone a piece of wood for $60 plus shipping.
For2itous @ May 22nd 2008 2:32PM
So, you're saying you've got more than enough 'wood' to go around?
fanthem @ May 22nd 2008 7:40PM
Yes. He owns a small forest.
Ethan @ May 22nd 2008 9:55AM
I've always had problems using optical mice on wood-veneer surfaces ... I wonder if actual wood would show the same issues. If that were the case, buyer beware!
TGunz @ May 22nd 2008 10:05AM
it is like rubbing 2 sticks together.
pradera @ May 22nd 2008 10:12AM
that last picture doesn't even make any sense... it's a wooden board lying on a wooden desk... those $60 banknotes stitched together would make a better mousepad.

Only WHO can prevent office fires?
You have selected you, referring to me. That is incorrect. The correct answer is you!

I read.
I weeped.
I lost some more faith in the future of mankind.

Oh, wow! This news is so exciting that I'm starting to get a woody.
AlphaTeam @ May 22nd 2008 11:34AM
If it can't beat the SteelSeries QcK heavy in size, I don't want it.
Kyle Krafka @ May 22nd 2008 12:46PM
I have the wooden keyboard/mouse mentioned in this article and while they look great, I never want to use them. The keyboard layout is terrible and the mouse just doesn't feel right.
Magallanes @ May 22nd 2008 12:56PM
$60????.. and (about the photo) using a cheap wooden?.
No way.
phanbouy @ May 22nd 2008 1:21PM
hey, Ma! check out how smooth this mouse pad is...OW! SPLINTER!
Greg Baz @ May 22nd 2008 2:54PM
Why not just use the wooden desk under the wooden mouse pad?
Andrew @ May 22nd 2008 5:30PM
They've been selling unvarnished wooden mousepads for years now. You can even customize the size for complainers. Go to a hardware store, ask them to cut you a piece of plywood, and it costs you 1/10th the price.
