Gigabyte to apologize to ASUS, do laundry for next year

It's over before it even began. Gigabyte has agreed to publicly apologize to ASUS over that little Energy Processing Unit spat they've been having. As part of the reported agreement, Gigabyte will tone down its "defamatory" comments while maintaining a more subdued supposition that its own DES technology is superior to ASUS' EPU. See, no need to take the matter to court, no need to distract senior execs from executing the business plan. All it took was a little public humiliation (and soap) to make them pals again. 
Asus is the bomb, they make the best stuff.

Ok, so I grew up in Switzerland didn't have TV here in the States until I was 11 but I HAVE heard of the two... At least from that Family Guy episode... Really, if people had known about how much of a jerk Ernie was, I don't know if he would have been on such a kid-friendly channel.
I'm glad Gigabyte sucked it up and apologized. That takes some serious guts in the business world.
Apologizing is a lot cheaper than civil suits.
Cheaper than pantsuits, too.
It's also a very Asian thing to do (and I don't mean that in a bad way).

so does that mean the EPU is real?
The EPU is real, only it's 'dumb' and controlled by software, and the fight was more/mainly about the insinuation by gigabyte that asus mobo's have massively exploding capacitors, merely because they aren't japanese (allegedly), and showing a non-asus product picture with exploded caps while saying it.
Also gigabyte says asus lied when they claimed a 80+% powersaving when it's actually 50%ish.
It's all a bit over the top really, but I guess gigabyte does a lot of effort to use expensive and smart parts and gets a bit miffed when asus runs away with the medal while cutting corners a bit?
+1 for The Office reference.
