Genius' SP-T1200 speaker system loves to be touched
Okay, so you could argue that most any speaker system would appreciate some TLC, but Genius' latest really adores it. The SP-T1200 2.0 Touch Speaker System comes with a black-onyx finish and enables owners to rely on a touch screen to control function, volume, bass or treble. When touched, the panel lights up to visually show that contact has been made, and while these promise 30-watts of skull-rattling sound, we wouldn't count on audiophile type results. Grab 'em now if you wish for $99.

Insert joke about headline here.

A touch screen for controlling volume on speakers is like having a touch screen for steering a car:
Some things just aren't meant for being controlled by touching a sheet of flat glass.

I have a pair of logitech Z10 and you are right about that... but having speakers with a volume control wheel sticking out isn't exactly aesthetically pleasing. They are a little useful when you dont have a remote and have your speakers close to you and far from your laptop.

Why do speakers that look good always have to sound bad?

I'm worried about the "skull-ratting" part. Sounds like some seriously infestation.

Well, you fixed that one pretty quickly.

I love to get touched, but like these speakers, I never will be :(

When did good old dials and physical controls go out of style? At least they don't leech unnecessary power and are always visible, and can be used with your eyes closed if they have the proper texture on them.
Sometimes I feel like the whole 'touch' trend is getting out of hand.

Gloss black -- for those who love their speakers covered with finger prints. Stupid.

I'll stick to my Logitech Z-10s. =P
