HTC's Touch Diamond gets spotted in Sprint attire
Right, so it's not like we didn't know a CDMA version of HTC's hotly anticipated Touch Diamond was headed to Sprint, but who can honestly argue with in the wild photos proving that said assumption is true? What we have here is a bona fide Diamond in Sprint garb, although eagle-eyed readers will likely notice the mildly tweaked TouchFLO interface (which reeks of Bold there at the bottom, no?). At any rate, you can peek one more (blurry, of course) image of this bugger in the read link.

Nice and tempting, but Im going to hold out for the Touch Pro.
More RAM + slide-out keyboard are worth the wait.
Dave @ Jul 1st 2008 6:46PM
Exactly. Sprint and Verizon can go ahead and grab this one, since I would probably bet the house on AT&T grabbing the Touch Pro, which is a better phone anyways.
Kris @ Jul 1st 2008 7:08PM
Sprint is getting the Touch Pro too.... why else would it be at the FCC in CDMA?
Hamidxa @ Jul 1st 2008 8:16PM
Dave,
I was actually alluding to Sprint when I said I'll wait for the Touch Pro, heh.
But hopefully HTC will spread the love around and offer this phone for all carriers here.
Dave @ Jul 1st 2008 9:23PM
True good point. Guess I had a brain fart.
kjb434 @ Jul 2nd 2008 9:09AM
ATT or T-Mobile will get the Touch Pro after about 6-9 months of the CDMA version being released.
Bradley @ Jul 2nd 2008 4:07PM
The Touch Pro looks bulkier than my fatty 6700.
DP @ Jul 1st 2008 6:19PM
mmm... segzy. now how about some blurry touch pro pics?
J-Rad @ Jul 1st 2008 6:19PM
I hope Verizon gets this phone.
Come on Verizon! Please pull out!
[I dont want to be impregnated]
blitzkrieg999 @ Jul 1st 2008 6:32PM
Fear not, for Verizon WILL be getting this phone as wel!
Verizon and Sprint both getting Blessed with HTC Touch Pro and Diamond - Gizmodo
Kamokazi @ Jul 1st 2008 6:24PM
Here's to hopiong Verizon gets the Touch Pro then...
ekimagem @ Jul 1st 2008 6:25PM
WOOHOO!
I can upgrade my old touch to this. No wait....if theres shots of this then the Raphael shots are prolly out to sumwhere. Hopefully this ends the speculation of whos gettin this phone in the U.S first.
So yea...no verizon, or anyone else. Instinct now this, then the raphael after that. Sprints finally gettin sum decent phones.
Derek @ Jul 1st 2008 6:29PM
I sure hope you can get the original interface back easily, that Sprint theme is pretty ugly.
mphayvanh @ Jul 1st 2008 6:40PM
T-Mobile's pink/maroon scheme or Verizon's fugly red checkmark?! I'll take the yellow wing thingy.
Derek @ Jul 1st 2008 6:42PM
Or they could just not change what was already perfect. :)
Matt @ Jul 1st 2008 8:28PM
Wing thingy? It's a pin dropping.
Matt @ Jul 1st 2008 10:52PM
The great thing about Sprint and Windows Mobile devices is that it's pretty easy to change the theme if you don't dig the default sprint branded one.
Alex @ Jul 1st 2008 6:31PM
I hope this is real.
Damn mr. blurrycam...
Lowest Ranked @ Jul 1st 2008 7:45PM
He took the pictures with his iPhone, look at the reflection.
Reid @ Jul 1st 2008 9:47PM
Lowest Ranked,
took me awhile to see that after you pointed it out. Is he holding it sideways? If so, now I see it.
..but I came to this thread to say damn, is there a rule that if you have access to something before it's available to the general public, you must take the crappiest possible pic?
Derek @ Jul 1st 2008 10:58PM
Actually he used a Mogul, it says on PPCGeeks (where this is from).
Elais @ Jul 2nd 2008 8:57AM
Yeah they use a rule borrowed from japanese porn. Anything worth seeing has to be blurred out.
Anyway I agree with an earlier statement. This is nice, but I'm still gonna wait for the pro. I can't live without my full QWERTY goodness.
blitzkrieg999 @ Jul 1st 2008 6:33PM
Oh sure, just kill my link!

John @ Jul 1st 2008 6:41PM
Well.. at least Sprint tossed their logo in the upper right hand corner instead of where the HTC logo is. Agree though.. the Sprint themed TouchFLO 3D is icky.
Nomi @ Jul 1st 2008 6:57PM
whaat?!
alexicov @ Jul 1st 2008 6:46PM
the photos taken with another phone..
How ironic
retro77 @ Jul 1st 2008 6:57PM
Almost looks like an iPhone Gen1 in the reflection.
John @ Jul 1st 2008 7:07PM
Its a Mogul actually. I have one and it looks like it, not only that but the guy who took the shots said it was one.
retro77 @ Jul 1st 2008 7:28PM
Thank you, John. Much appreciated.
retro77 @ Jul 1st 2008 6:56PM
I'll donate a $1 to send this guy to photography class so that we can something we make out. Geez!
Kimleng @ Jul 1st 2008 7:07PM
You can be thankful that the phone used to take this picture didn't contain/or fire off a flash! Then we'd have something worse than this blob of a picture akin to graphics produced by a Sega Genesis. But, yes, having some Super Nintendo level pictures would be nice.
Anthony H. @ Jul 1st 2008 7:08PM
I'll donate $1 to send you to English class so that we can make out what your saying.
Tony @ Jul 1st 2008 7:25PM
@ Anthony H.
Looks like you could use some English classes too.
retro77 @ Jul 1st 2008 7:27PM
Ya, Anthony H., get a grip. I can't make out what you are saying.
Nomi @ Jul 1st 2008 7:39PM
It seems like people intentionally try to mess it up, even if you guess you have a 50% chance of getting it right....your, you're.
retro77 @ Jul 1st 2008 7:41PM
Nomi, that shall ym future gole, to purposely mess it pu all.
bob cobb @ Jul 1st 2008 6:58PM
Im so disappointed that they didnt make the screen bigger for this phone. Its basically what is making me switch from sprint for the 3g iPhone :(
Pip @ Jul 1st 2008 7:10PM
Here is the thread, the post is from someone in Sprint's testing group:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=30023&page=3
This "leak" seems authorized by Sprint, since the poster is so up-front with his affiliation and position (and seemingly not afraid of losing his job).
And the pictures suck because they were taken with a Mogul, but ksemt says he will post pictures tonight from a real camera
VampireHunter Z @ Jul 1st 2008 7:41PM
My Mogul takes better pictures than this. This guy just did a crappy job.
grull27 @ Jul 1st 2008 7:22PM
I love the phone but I hate Windows Mobile. I've tried Windows Mobile phones (including the HTC Touch) and it was not user friendly at all! Hopefully they give us the easy-to-use interface I've seen in YouTube videos of this phone.
Anthony @ Jul 1st 2008 7:32PM
The Dream is also going to be for Alltel as well! I got to take a look at one at an Alltel seminar in Mankato, MN. There are some pretty sweet phones scheduled to hit Alltel stores this fall! Touch screen is the new black.
Grant @ Jul 1st 2008 9:03PM
you do know alltel=verizon now right?
Tonyfoto @ Jul 1st 2008 7:36PM
ooops, I just noticed that was the diamond! none the less the dream still is a sweet phone! hah
Laxiepoo @ Jul 1st 2008 7:41PM
I want! I want! So sick of my old Treo 700w...
Harry_Bonds @ Jul 1st 2008 8:22PM
ehh Iphone 3rd generation is what im waiting for, untill then sony xperia ftw! Or Maybe htc will pull its head out of there butts, and make a 3.5 inch screen thats touch.
anyways this looks nice for sprint users.
Kyle @ Jul 1st 2008 10:28PM
ummm....you do know that HTC made the Xperia right?
Blad3 @ Jul 2nd 2008 9:09PM
rofl, and you do know htc is coming out with the dream right? iphone = pwnt
Grant @ Jul 1st 2008 9:05PM
I want the pro pretty bad, unfortunately according to the source of the pictures "the Pro's FCC filing we saw yesterday requested confidentiality until October 19th".
So we're gonna be waiting a while. Oh well, i'm not up for a discounted phone til December anyways.
Tonyfoto @ Jul 1st 2008 9:26PM
Grant, you know the Alltel=Verizon still has to be approved by the FCC right? so as of right now the Dream is dressed up with an Alltel logo on it and will probably sell this fall as Alltel even if the merger is approved seeing how it will take about a year for anything noticeable to happen!
Yu Gi Joe @ Jul 1st 2008 9:32PM
That picture was obviously not taken with another Touch Diamond's forward facing camera for video calls which is quite obviously missing from the Sprint incarnation. Heck, I have an Aiptek VGA webcam, circa 1995 which takes better pictures than that. hehe
