Asus to bust out a nice laptop that we can't have -- yet. The new
F8Va, released in Korea only for now, packs an Intel Core Duo T9400 at 2.53GHz, 4GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM, a 320GB SATA spinner, ATI Radeon HD3650 GPU, and a 14-inch WXGA screen at 1440 x 900. To top it off, the F8Va includes a Blu-Ray combo drive, 1.3 megapixel camera, and HDMI out. It's hitting Korea in July, but if / when it comes to the US, we're probably looking at a $1299 price based on early reviews. Early test scores came in at 4103 3DMarks, an SM2.0 score of 1349, and a HDR/SM3.0 score of 1819. Drool over the info in the read links if you must.

The video card used in this laptop is strong candidate in the next MacBook Pro refresh. Good to know it performs well.

@dagamer34:
Isn't that great? They'll charge too much for it, release it a bit late, keep it until it's completely obsolete, and all the while rave about its performance at Doom3, because that's the best game you can get to run on a mac.

I have an Asus M50SA with better specs and it's been out for 6 months now. Where is the news?
And yes it has bluray.
Jimmy Jones @ Jul 16th 2008 9:38AM
you'll never get those kind of specs on a Mac Book Pro ...at least not until everything in that rounded edged silver aluminum is closed for monopoly purposes....
On the other hand, if you get much features, you can expect to break your bank and file for bankruptcy as soon as you get the so called pimped up portable from eh..el-jobso

By the way Engadget, it's only a 250gb HDD.

Mac fanboys should be banned as quickly as training wheeled cyclists would get booted from a Harley site.

250gb or 320gb which one is it?
maveric101 @ Jul 16th 2008 10:47PM
the first link has the cpu as a T9400, but the review has it at a P8400. which is it? i would think it would be the Pxxxx, since that is the newer series.
