One megabit EPROM cufflinks for the jetset nerd
Sure, we mostly kick gaming-themed cufflinks when we hit the town in our finest French cuffs, but we're definitely looking into getting a set of these hot one megabit EPROM links to spice things up a bit. Made by Flickr user JMarler as a birthday present for a friend, they're certainly unique -- but come on, we demand at least 1GB of wrist-based storage in this day and age.

...won't you buy me an EPROM cufflink?
kornation @ Aug 31st 2008 10:25AM
Except these and similar products have been available at ThinkGeek.com for oh... 2-3 years? They were dropped from its line-up a while ago, along with the CAT5 bracelets, IDE Belts and other geek apperal made out of computer parts (apart from a small circuit board necklace)
That's stretching the term 'news'.

Maybe if it was at least a couple gigabytes.

MacGyver would find this useful
he would add some paper clips with glass and make a rocket

Since most people comment without reading the post.

JR @ Aug 31st 2008 10:25AM
Or maybe most people did notice, but they were to busy capitalizing their sentences to point out the obvious like an annoying prick.
Hope this helps.

I sure hope the terrorists don't find out about this...
tha-don @ Aug 31st 2008 6:36AM
if anyone wears these in public...then the terrorists have already won.
Picviewer @ Aug 31st 2008 6:55AM
This makes a magazine? Seriously? I've been sporting a Voodoo1 chip as a keychain for years now. Guess for some people it's hard to figure out then.
aeth @ Aug 31st 2008 7:07AM
Engadget is a blog. You can post pretty much anything and most people won't care.

wickedpheonix @ Aug 31st 2008 1:24PM
It's probably real simple to do, but a how-to guide would be nice if they couldn't just sell them off of Thinkgeek or something :)
Franksmith @ Aug 31st 2008 2:36PM
Does anyone actually know a real geek that has ever worn cuff links???
patrickdsmith @ Aug 31st 2008 8:31PM
I really can't imagine why anyone would need more than 640kb cufflinks.
linuxamp @ Sep 1st 2008 12:37AM
Homeland Security will probably detain you at the border while they try to read whatever data might be on these things.
Eric @ Sep 2nd 2008 12:41PM
ugh
william @ Oct 19th 2008 1:56AM
you could hide some small zip files or a few jpegs probably on there assuming there real (and unburnt, eg blank) PROMs and could plug them in or solder wires to them somehow
128Kibibytes per cufflink!!!
at least a 8Gbit (1GB) TSOP flash IC lol
