Nintoaster mod makes NES games tastier than ever

This toaster may only have one setting, but that setting is NES, and that's good enough for us. Created by the same console modder behind the monstrous Super Genintari, this project is certainly a good deal less ambitious than that endeavor, but it hits all the right marks nonetheless, including a functional front lever that acts as a power switch, and some red LEDs that light up your cart but probably won't do much for your toast. Be sure to hit up the link below for plenty more pics and a look at the complete build process.

i thought we already had to blow out the carts enough, and now they've gotta go and put them in a toaster, with all the crumbs and whatnot...
coehort @ Sep 9th 2008 9:37PM
best nintendo....ever
Ander @ Sep 10th 2008 12:35AM

Carl Vitullo @ Sep 9th 2008 9:36PM
Hey I have that toaster.
Erik @ Sep 9th 2008 10:07PM
Does yours glow red when you put a NES cartridge in it too?
gad get @ Sep 9th 2008 10:17PM
Not recommended, by the way.
kal326 @ Sep 10th 2008 9:27AM
@Erik
Yes, but you have to leave them in there quite a while.
Bryan @ Sep 9th 2008 9:37PM
Needs a fresh coat of Nestastic paint, though!
Gril @ Sep 9th 2008 9:47PM

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was in the process of making this! Only with a slightly more 90's toaster. But I had the EXACT same plans - lever as the power switch and everything. And guess what I was going to call it? The Nintoaster. If I just had all the right materials, I would have finished first...gahh!!!
gad get @ Sep 9th 2008 10:20PM
Here, have a burnt NES cartridge cookie as consolation.
Ian @ Sep 9th 2008 10:26PM
yumm yumm yummm toasty...
UnixSystemsEngineer @ Sep 9th 2008 10:47PM

Next step, Atari Waffle Iron.

Damn, was hoping Bill was finally unveiling that edible Vista he hinted at.
guidedbyvoip @ Sep 11th 2008 2:03AM
Not only do you have to blow on the carts, but you have to blow the crumbs out, too.
strider_mt2k @ Sep 10th 2008 5:27AM
Built it into a toaster and they will come.
Seriously though, beautiful work!
riggs @ Sep 10th 2008 9:13AM
toadstool jelly
kal326 @ Sep 10th 2008 9:30AM
I wonder if its available with a matching 360 toaster oven?
Mic2000 @ Sep 10th 2008 1:25PM
I thought it was the new Nintendo Wii Virtual Console
Matthew Corgan @ Sep 30th 2008 11:12AM
This has to be the funniest Nes invention. The Nintendo Entertainment System was the greatest system ever. The top 10 list I most agree with is http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/09/top-10-nes-games-of-all-time_18.html
Oh minus Tecmo Bowl and Bubble Bobble. Not sure how they made it on any list. Every Nes gamer has a different opinion though. But a Nes toaster haha. Still the funniest.

Very nice mod! I get all my NES games from www.triforcegamez.com
