BlackBerry Storm User Guide surfaces
Look, we love finding out the pre-release minutiae just as much as anyone, but this is getting a little absurd. Yesterday we spotted a Storm slide pack, just this morning we ran across a sneak peek of RIM's BlackBerry Application Center, and merely hours later we're being treated to the BlackBerry Storm User Guide. What's next, internal information on how to best polish the casing? C'mon Verizon, get this thing out in the open already!

"In the Portrait view, the Blackberry 9500 smartphone has two Home screens."
Kinda defeats the idea of a Home screen, doesn't it? "Oh, that function isn't here. Try the other Home."
Just like on the iPhone where you slide your finger to see the icons that arent on the main home screen... I don't see your problem. Or are you just trying to find problems anywhere you can?
Or defeats the idea of Portrait view. "You can either click here, or here :)"
It's not unusual to have multiple home screens. It means you can choose a layout you like better.
WinMo's Home screen can be manipulated in infinite ways. I like some of the work XDA developers have been doing for WinMo. HTC even has there variations.
Android is the same way. The home screen possibilities would be infinite. Absolutely customizable to what you need and want.
Well the BGR servers are taking a massive shit for some reason...
They've been like that since the weekend. BG said it was something to do with all the Storm stories and their unveiling of the Kindle 2. At least most of the sites who have linked to the Storm stories mirrored the pics on their own servers.
Yea, I think Engadget needs to do that. This is getting ridiculous. Every single BGR story that Engadget has linked to has been practically inaccessible. Engadget, I think you have the bandwidth to spare to host the images yourself!
Wow Engadget, pretty slow on this story. If you are already 15 hours behind BGR and Crackberry, why even bother posting at all?
I'm seriously debating pick one of these bad boys up when they're released, but I'm concerned about how much you can customize. I've had Windows Mobile for so long that I'm afraid of losing the freedom to trick it out any way I like. I literally have a new home screen on a weekly basis, and I'm constantly tweaking the registry to get things the way I like it.
I'm not sure if the Storm runs a different BB OS, I suspect that it does not - does anybody have any input on what the customization system is like on a BB vs. a Windows Mobile phone? I heard the majority of good BB apps cost money, which isn't cool.
If anybody has made the transition, what are your thoughts?
Cheers
as a person who had a pda then went to an all touch screen phone.... you will miss the feeling of the keys with they keyboard. i dont know how else to explain it. i went back to a curve just because of that. i know lots of people who got the iphone that say the same thing but they keep it because it looks cool. but for someone who like to text and email a touch screen with grow old in a month or two.
This is exactly why I'd get a G1 and not a Thunder or the Touch HD.... even if it meant no hi-res screen.
I was invited by a VZ rep to a local hands-on of the BB Storm on the 29th, so presumably the handset wont be out until around then.
Either it's a WICKED slow news day, or I read Engadget too much.
Yeah... "internal information about how to polish the casing". You can imagine the hilarity that would ensue if THAT happened. Good one, hahaha.
this needs to come out NOW!
I needs me a new phone.
Lately, BoyGeniusReport has not loaded for shit.
Wow! I love the interface!! This is the best Blackberry phone ever!
they could of done it in an obnoxious quicktime video
