Samsung's S8300 slider packs AMOLED display, 8-megapixel camera
If Samsung's Soul had your innermost emotions shakin', wait until you wrap your retinas around this. The S8300, which is said to be an upgrade from the aforementioned mobile -- will reportedly come stacked with 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, a 2.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera, inbuilt GPS, an FM radio with RDS, 60MB of onboard memory, DivX playback and an "anti-scratch / anti-fingerprint coated duraluminium chassis." There are no promises that it'll be ready for a CES showcase, though we're hearing that a MWC launch is expected in a worst case scenario. Want!
But afraid to ask "how much", most likely will get scared off by it.
Hopefully camera is the same or better than Inno8

vvtopkar @ Dec 29th 2008 2:51PM
You're thinking about the Verizon software, not the Samsung Software, which in my esperience is pretty nice.

It's awesome, full touch screen plus slider keys.
I passed over my Omnia to my better half when I got seduced by HTC touch HD's big screen but now I really wish I cold get it back (I specially miss the Omnia's genial mini mousepad, and the ease of use of the touch whiz interface)
Nokia has got to deliver a very impressive device with its N97 or Samsung is gonna walk all over its face in the coming year(s).
kylex @ Dec 29th 2008 3:12PM
Looks pretty great. I'm not entirely sold on the orange back, but the rest of the phone looks pretty tasty. Here's hoping the UI can hold up... and that it makes its debut into the US market pretty soon.
Fernando @ Dec 29th 2008 3:28PM
Samsungs are getting nicer by the day.

From the pictures it appears this camera phone uses dual LED flash; which means it will be damn near useless for night shots.

It is P23,000 Philippine Peso, around US $575. It's really great, had a briefing on the phone a while ago, we're launching it here. It has lots of new technologies, the silliest things even, like the "fake call" concept, where the phone automatically rings when you press the silver key on the side, "faking" a call (useful when in meetings or dates). It also has the Touch Sensor. It locks your phone whenever you call to prevent the touch phone to be "touched". It has the newest technology in LCD, the AMOLED screen. 16G of memory, expandable.
