NintendoWare Weekly: Overturn, Sexy Poker, Tecmo Bowl

This week is a special one for Nintendo fans. Not only do we finally see an end to the Virtual Console drought, but we also get fighting robots and a new Art Style game. Oh, and then there's Sexy Poker, Gameloft's odd strip poker game for WiiWare. We guess the company never heard of Google image search?

DSiWare

  • Art Style: precipice (Nintendo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): The sky is literally falling in the latest Art Style game. Players must climb tall stacks of blocks while avoiding falling ones, which reminds us of our last vacation to Avalanche Mountain.

WiiWare

  • Overturn (Studio Zan, 1 - 4 players, 800 Wii Points): Gigantic bots take to the arena in this combat-heavy WiiWare title. You can customize your bot's weapon load-out and take them online for some one-on-one or four-player free-for-all action. It kind of looks like a cross between VOOT and Custom Robo Arena.

  • Sexy Poker (Gameloft, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Is there any other kind of poker? From the voluptuous curves of the Queen of Hearts right down to the manly mustache of the Jack of Spades, all are recreated here in Gameloft's title which (we're sure we don't have to tell you) is not for the children.

Virtual Console

  • Tecmo Bowl (Arcade, 1 - 4 players, 600 Wii Points): Originally released in arcades in 1987, Tecmo Bowl is known for having more detailed graphics than its NES port, as well as a custom dual-screened cabinet. While this download won't drop a vintage cabinet into your living room, you may drop a few virtual teeth on the field. Those Tecmo Bowl guys like to play dirty.
