We didn't set out to find Lian-Li's Burj Al Arab-in-PC-case-form at CeBIT (okay, we did, so sue us), but the best part of finding the PC-888 wasn't the case itself. Rather, it was the fellow who spotted it just behind us for the first time ever. We can't replicate in words the amount of glee in his voice, as he obviously has spent at least one night in Dubai's most iconic hotel. Needless to say, we're guessing he left Hannover with one of these in his checked bag.
At least there is a reason for the chassis to be ugly, although I don't remember the hotel being blue. But it is shiny, that's been acceptably achieved. As a matter of fact, isn't the Burj Al Arab more like Homeworld's Mothership?
I don't really see the Burj in this picture. I see a slightly curved PC tower, but still it lacks several key aspects of the Burj design, like where is the helipad, cross in the back, or cheesy gold Gucci sofas that only a Persian would think looked good?
Also Elora, the Burj is many colors when it is lit up at night, the main two colors being purple and blue.
anyone else think that lights on PCs are a think of the past (for normal people). I had blue lights on my pc since 2006, and damn is it annoying at night (24/7 baby!) also it draws power which certainly contributed to my PSU implosion.
I completely agree. There are some useful lights: power, hdd activity, the lights on my video card that let you know if there is a problem with any of the connections/power. However, many manufacturers have completely overdone it. The lights are unnecessary, and, as DarkLight said, usually too bright.
Should have the Burj Dubai, 1.4km high Nakheel Tower, Pentominium Tower, 850m Oasis tower and the countless other 600+m towers spinging up in Dubai, man that would be just sick. Coruscant!
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"

Reminds me when I stared at a persons nose because they had white nose hair in the nostrils.
I was like.... "WTF? How did they do that!?"
I hope they put Linux there, because Micro$oft and Window$ SUCK !!!

DEFENDER OF THE BRAND.....NUMPTY OF THE UNIVERSE
Nice to see Lian-Li breaking out of the square box mold..
I love how the expression on that guy's face is all "WTF right? I'm gonna clap anyway because it's polite.".
i thought this was a blu-ray adv prop since it's all blu...

Or, you know, by the Burj Al Arab.

The guy in the picture is reacting to the Alienware reference.

More than the 850 I've made already? :) Ive been on hiatus.

i bet you the guy was paid by the company to be excited about it behind "new media, bloggers, potential costumers" :D
lolz, engadget paid this swarthy man to look excited about it.
It only has 4 USB ports?

Then it is a good thing they went for the blue. A big, purple case in that tone would induce sea-sickness. Or have the same consequences.
i think this asian model beats all the others put together
Wow Engadget cutting edge news as usual, this case was launched in JAN 2008 !

Its an ugly case btw...
Do they provide blue misc. parts or do you have to ugly it all up by putting in computer parts?
Wow, wow...
This is just the definition of tacky.
Soon they'll finished work on making it possible to replicate voices, I hear that chap edison is working on it.
i bet someone in Dubai has comp case made out of goldd n dimaondss
Well, I guess it sorta looks like the Burj Al Arab...but they kinda missed the iconic mark and landed dead center in UGLY.
And my computer case is made out of sand that has been dredged from the bottom of the ocean...and gold/diamonds ;)

This is bordering on insulting to the landmark

I use dim and not-too-colored lights (ie. the "power" LED looks stronger than the background light)
Like everything, it looks very nice if you do it in the right amount, not too little, but not too much
If you use too much of it, it will impress at a first glance, then annoy forever. Unfortunately, this is what most manufacturers do.

Mmm... Looks like they took an Antec 900, chopped around 20% off it then gave it an aerial.
PC at the roller disco wooo yeah!
TechwareLabs did a review on this case a while back.

The first time I saw it, it reminded me of a Dalek
I think it's cool, but aren't we supposed to be reducing and not increasing the size of computers? ;)
He's like: Who are you? And how did you get in here?!?!
Looks like the same footprint as my Thermaltake Armor series, which has it's own gravitational pull.
Very pretty.

Did Lian Li get bought out by Arabs??
That is disgusting.
Except Mr. Lian Li looks like Mr. Punjabi -san
