Toshiba
already showed us what its freshest line of HDTVs looks like, and now its Mitsubishi's turn. The outfit was on hand in NYC to showcase a few of its now-shipping sets, including the 3D-ready Home Theater line and its speaker-infused Unisen crew. We won't bore you with the specs (which can be found
here and
here, respectively), but we
will confess that the 82-inch WD-82737 has us squirming uncontrollably. Have a peek yourself in the gallery below.

Beautiful C1 Corvette!
Evan @ Jun 11th 2009 5:25PM
the really small bezel is soooooooooo sexay.
mirakutea @ Jun 11th 2009 5:26PM
So is this actually comfortable to watch? the stuff at CES 2k9 was mostly perhaps all impractical gimmicks.
Matt @ Jun 11th 2009 5:29PM
82 inchessssssssss... I think I may have found my next tv... provided I can sell my house in time and find some outlet to hijack electricity from to power this beast.
Mam00th @ Jun 11th 2009 5:30PM
More lasers please
KezMondo @ Jun 11th 2009 5:32PM
So how about some 3D, shall we say, 'feel-good' movies to go with that 85 inch 'screen'.
Muddy @ Jun 11th 2009 7:30PM
Once that happens then we'll see some real demand for these type of screens.
peepeepants @ Jun 11th 2009 9:39PM
Feel-good movies on a 3-D HDTV... Hmmmmm.....
First-gen 82-inch 3-D HDTV set: $5,000
Taking a girl out to cliché movie and dinner and drinks and home sexing:

I think the choice is obvious!!! Down with porn! Up with promiscuous sexing and drug usage!
Down with not being able to use the less-than symbol!
dave lehman @ Jun 11th 2009 8:00PM
is this with or with out the 3d glasses
David @ Jun 11th 2009 5:47PM

brandoshido @ Jun 11th 2009 5:54PM
i havent even seen the LaserVue tv's they have and they wanna throw this out there now? Is Mitsu even doing well in the TV department?
Shawn @ Jun 11th 2009 6:04PM
Wow, that is spiffy
Looks too expensive for me
Maybe I can steal?
wrongway @ Jun 11th 2009 6:29PM
The most amazing part is that they chose to show the San Jose Sabercats halftime show on the screen... Certainly a low-def event.
Prezzie @ Jun 11th 2009 7:31PM
Actually, more than a few San Jose Sabercats home games were filmed in 1080p. Don't forget that the owner of the Sabercats, is the owner of Fry's Electronics...
Anyway, I have seen these recordings, and they look absolutely stunning.
Oh, and GO 'CATS!

With a RPTV, does 82" make the off angle issue better or worse. Sure the sweet spot is gonna be bigger, but are we getting to the size where the middle looks good, but the sides are washed out?
Hooterman @ Jun 11th 2009 6:43PM
Bah, now my 73" Mits DLP needs to be "upgraded". ;)
accnt5 @ Jun 11th 2009 6:46PM
Can't we already have 3D TV's that do not require special glasses? It's 21 century. We are gonna get there eventually!
darkmax @ Jun 11th 2009 7:07PM
never thought Mitsubishi will sell beyond Japan and Taiwan

Recession Antidote?

This is no longer amusing. Please cease and desist.

gunna be a while before i pull the trigger on a 3d TV cause of price. things change fast tho (for example, arena football might be dead rather than coming to u in 3d on one of these things) so hopefully ill live to see the day in 3d
shertz @ Jun 12th 2009 12:55AM
Should I get this or wait and see if an 82" Laservue is on the horizon?
Decisions.... Decisions..... ;-)
Chris B @ Jun 12th 2009 3:08AM
How old is that screen cap? The Arena league didn't play this year... I'm assuming its a taped game?
Scorpii @ Jun 12th 2009 4:46AM
If we need to use 3D glasses, it'd be great to have polarized (3D) contact lenses.
oracle @ Jun 12th 2009 4:57PM
I hope I'm not the only one getting a chuckle about the fact that the screen is displaying a sport that canceled its 2009 season.
HDTV @ Jun 24th 2009 4:33PM
Wow where is it all going :) Seems expensive
