ASUS' Eee PC 1101HA netbook gets unboxed on video, shown in black
Unlike ASUS' Eee PC 1005HA, which seemed to ship just days after debuting, the company's 1101HA is taking its sweet time in going from "real" to "really available" here in America. This next member in the expanding Seashell range boasts a larger-than-usual 11.6-inch display and can be ordered with optional 3G (eventually, anyway), and the good folks over at NewGadgets managed to get ahold of one and unbox it for the cameras. Better still, they undressed a glossy black unit, which is noticeably different than the shiny white version we've seen thus far. Care to have a look? It's all there just after the break.

WTF, Asus? What happened to "we will never make a netbook larger than 10 inches"?
Indeed. I loved netbooks because they were so tiny. But now they're just smaller laptops with shittier specs, instead of sub-notebooks that weren't $1700.
Nice! I Think 11.6 is a great size for a netbook. Anything bigger shouldnt be a netbook though.
What about 11.7"?
11.6" is worth the extra resolution you gain from it, but now that they make the HD 10" screens there should be no reason to go higher.
Plus big screens piss off Intel.
I guess each to his own but honestly I grow tiresome of all these netbook reviews and such, I mean I managed to win one at work and I like but nothing has changed since I got one in Feb.
True the form factor is getting fantastic and running Win7 makes it actually awesome to use, But really I wish some of these company's would at least make 2GB-RAM a standard. I hope when AMD finally make there foray into this field they bring some actual innovation to a already stagnant market.
I don't understand the sense of making a video about "unboxing" a device ...
IMHO people want to see reviews, and if you unbox a device it is not so difficult to make also a review.
here here
I heard at once that the guy in the video is german although his english isn't bad!
This is exactly what I want to buy, however not with the crappy CPU they have stuck into it.
I will be waiting a little longer.
Good call - the Z520 in this makes it useless...and apparently the Z530 (which was promised) is now never coming to the 1101HA (unsure of source, apologies). FAIL!
Here's that source:

Do you really think Z530 will make a big difference compared to a Z520 ? LOL
yes
$199 says Apple is coming out with a $699 and $799 iNetbook that has an integrated iPhone dock...
I'll take your $199 since you are obviously full of shit
Full of poop? I hardly think so..
The $100 upgrade is only for the Black + non-glossy screen...
noob
Is it that time of the month again? ASUS' comes out with a new netbook once a month ... LOL!
And they keep gaining market share, strange that !
Sweet. I think this size is good for a netbook, anyone know the specs??
It's a netbook, guess.
1.6 Ghz Intel Atom, 1 GB of RAM, 160 GB hard drive. Did I get it right?
how about some friekin ion based netbooks already !!!! what the hell are waiting for ???? I really need one and am gonna buy one by the end of this month.
S12 has too less battery life and 1000HE has no ion.....
Decisions :( Help me out ppl !
S12 still has no ION, you'll be waiting till post Windows 7-release if you want one of those.
You can alread a review here:

anyone knows about net-book but with low-voltage cpu ? like Acer's 11.6-inch Aspire Timeline 1810T
If I can get a netbook with a dual core I'll jump at it, but until then, I'm waiting.
