I totally think a black Wii will eventually be released, if not this year. How many Nintendo consoles have been released in one and only one color for the entire life of the system in the last 15 years?

Uh... the Nintendo 64? It had a lot of color schemes available as limited editions.

With N's drop in sales this year, you can be sure the black on will be here in the US in no time.
Of course, the remote won't look as cool with a white Wii Motion+ and the huge condom on it.

Nintendo does this all the time it seems; Releasing other exclusive color versions of their hard ware to only Japan. The greatest examples have been related to GBA, Ds , etc. Personally It upsets me because in my eyes it only influences price gouging on these systems. People who really want them will pay importers ridiculous prices for them. Really why not just release them here in the US to for the Nintendo Fan boys or make them available via their website at MSRP. I used to be a "BigN" fan but the more they do this the more I feel cheated.
I think its the 3 releases of the DS in 4 years that made me feel cheated. Anyone try that DSi? I keep turning the thing off because my thumb overlaps the on/off button because its right by the directional pad.

When something stops selling, it makes it in multiple colors, and then they relase an add on.
$333? that's odd. my Wii turned black just fine for a $5 with a can of Krylon.
thats about the only way I would ever get a Wii... If I void the warranty right out of the box and modify it. White Electronics have no place in my entertainment center...
of course the more people that email Nintendo saying that they would buy a black console might just help them change their mind. Personally I would have bought the orange Game Cube if they had sold that one in the US... I almost brought one back from Japan just for the case...

Japanese consoles can only play Japanese games.
It would be kind of funny if someone ordered this and it was a Japanese model.
Then, they couldn't read shit on the device or play any games made for Wiis United States.
For example, you can't play Japanese Nintendogs on an American DS.
Yes, you can. DS games have no region locking.
It's pretty easy to switch the region of the Wii these days. A few button clicks and your done.
I've had a black Wii for about a year now, 17 dollars on eBay for a replacement case.

meh, i bought a all crome case for 30 and just swapped it myself. It took about 2 hours of careful work but It looks way better then black. You can have this glossy black one all day long.
Chrome is easily the tackiest looking material on any device, except maybe a little detailing on cars or computers.
Too bad the Wii is locked to the Japanese region. I don't know if region changes are still possible with newer revisions, but things like Bootmii cannot be installed. I'd get one just to swap the cases if I had money to throw around.
Here's what you do, you buy the wii, install bootmii, use any regon changer to change it to your regon, then you insert a disc with a higher Firmware that you currently have, then you can enjoy your new english black wii :P.

I'm pretty sure my Wii was white in 2006, but now it's turned kinda "smoker's teeth" yellow.
at $333 its only half evil! just dont buy 2 of them.
yeah lets pay $90 more after tax and shipping just to have one that
is a different color. meanwhile people are starving in other
countries waste of money. its already a waste to buy a wii in the
first place but to pay $90 extra or more for a special color well
then you just labeled yourself the stupidest person in your town
so basically everyone should give all their extra cash away to people in worse situations than them.
