BlackBerry Bold 9700 official on T-Mobile Germany, November launch confirmed
Perhaps the worst kept secret till now -- outside of Walt Mossberg's embargo slipups -- was that T-Mobile and the latest BlackBerry flagship device were set for a November marriage. Hell, there were even invitations to the party. So, whether you call it the Bold 2, the 9700, or the Onyx, come next month you'll be able to lovingly place its 480 x 360 display, WiFi antennae and all that other hotness in a Curve-sized space inside your pocket. We can expect this first official confirmation to be followed by similar appearances in the US and across Europe as the 9700 begins its ascension to the throne of the BlackBerry kingdom.

Ahhh boy so nice. Will this have T-mobile USA 3G?
Still using trackball? LOL
Blackberrys suck. They're slow, with a crappy web browser. I want a Palm Pre!
Yawn Yawn...
Then get your Palm Pre and be happily ever after?
Geil!
i prefer the old Bold's design, more manly in a way, any difference in spec but?
It's been a while that everybody is teasing about this device, but no one sees any interest in it: no new web browser, a camera not that sexy, ... Maybe is it more powerfull but for what if this is the same Bold? I was waiting this phone 4 months ago, now....
You can use opera mini 5 instead of default browser.
No interest? Engadget posts about it two or three times a week. It looks like a really nice phone; the only reason I don't upgrade from my Bold 9000 is that I'm waiting for the Dakota. And yes, the browser argument is rather obsolete, especially once the Skyfire beta releases.
Well you didn't give me any arguments. Ok it's an improved blackberry (surely the best) and an improved Bold, but those improvments are mostly to be found in its hardware, the lack of changes in the software is a pitty.Especially where they need to be done (aka in the web browser, sorry but until i don't see Skyfire i don't believe it, and again Blackberry is really really late on this one... even Nokia which was in the middle age few month ago is bak on track).
"no one sees any interest in it"
Yeah? Well speak for yourself! I, for one, can not wait for this bad boy! GDGT updated
"* Particularly fine design. chrome frame, back in leather optics"
I don't know why this made me chuckle, but it did. I mean... the phone is gorgeous, but it was funny to see this as a feature.
William, BlackBerries are still strong in the enterprise market. This one will come with a 2-year flat-rate plan. The buy-out price should be somewhere between 500-600 EUR. The only stupid thing about all these is that it will be a T-Mobile branded device. Some T-Mobile artifacts ARE NOT REMOVABLE from the device. My tip is to go for an UNBRANDED device.
cool
Ok it's nice to see a new bold but could you please make it stand out! I have the old bold and when it came out it was called the bold because it had everybody with their mouths wide open. I see they added the digital trackball but a better camara would have been nice.
Blackberry: "The Attack of the Clones"
When is "New Hope" in design going to ever arrive? :(
At least there is a White Bold now coming to AT&T to add some change. They need to create some hype when the "Empire Strikes Back" with the Storm 2 :D Or else the "Phantom Menace" of the N900 will gain some market.
I am sure a lot of Droids are ready to attack "The Return of the Jedi" just ask the Sholes and the Hero. So many phones my "Empire is Divided"
You're trying way too hard.
DARTH VADER USES THIS PHONE...soo im deff getting it. t-mo germany has the g1,hero,iphone,bold,e71.....thats a good lineup
Wow. Great to see such excitement in this thread, especially as measured by quantity of posts!
Will it be 3G? That is my question. I been waiting for a 3G Blackberry on Tmobile, if this isnt it I'm just getting an Iphone.
yes it is 3g its t-mos first 3g balckberry in the us atleast!

T-mobile @home (aka UMA) noticeably missing...
Deal breaker for me. No TMO service here. =\
My Pearl with UMA works beautifully though.
agreed, I'm not giving up UMA for 3G...
theres nothing to agree on it has both
