Intel fires employees out of cannons, flirts with supervillainy
If you had to play a five-note jingle in the most extravagant way possible, how would you go about it? Intel's answer is to propel five "engineers" through the air and into specially prepared jumbo-sized tubular bells. The result is the familiar "Intel Inside" tune, and for extra flair points the big bad monopolist also throws in a countdown done in Finnish which you'll definitely want to see and hear. The video lies after the break and yes, of course it's a fake -- even the engineers are just hired actors.

wow, let the innuendos fly
@(Unverified) In YOUR endo.
@Jon Adair come on... they're Intel's blue balls....
@(Unverified)
Sorry, you can't top Jon's comment. Nope. Sorry.

The new way to fire employees.
@Nosgoroth
The only disappointment is that your comment was not first.
+1 from every browser I can access.
@Nosgoroth
Did you see that tiny sticker on the back of the cannon that says "Intel Inside"?
pew pew pew pew pew!
Oh so THIS is what they mean by "anticompetitive tactics."

@Nokia N900
wow , Im too slow.
@Tomino You would think they could manage to actually TRY to hit or at least fire off the tubular chimes in the video.. only one of the "actors" tagged a tubular bell and it was just a grazing hit (was entirely done moving by theend of the video..oddly enough.. NONE of the first 4 bells was even set in motion by extras/actors/producers.. who apparently felt that a payoff at at the end of this horribly done fake youtube style stunt.. was not required
intel circus inside
Those silly Finns. Finntel?
why are there giant fleas on the cannons?
@Wiggy Fuzz, presumably, they are compressed air tanks.
SUPERFAKE !
@(Unverified) Thanks, I'm sure many didn't notice...
@(Unverified) What makes you so sure it's fake? It looks pretty real to me and they have more info about the preparation for it http://www.intel.com/en_UK/CannonBells/index.htm
Judging by his accent Martti has lived a loooong time in Sweden...
@finbred I was thinking the same thing. Though, A) he might be Swedish speaking Finn or B) just a Finn who used to live in Sweden, of which either is too rare. Plus, if you watch the Intel site about the CannonBells, you can hear fluent Finnish and definite Finnish accent.
@crappish Being a Swedish speaking Finn myself, I rule out A) as that is clearly a "rikssvensk" accent, typical for born Swedes. "Martti" however is a pure Finnish name, derived from Martin. So the only question that I have is was it really too hard to find a Finn to play that role?
AMD's counting it's billion or so to really care...
whaha, he finns having fun
Check out the one on the far right side, he gets shot way to the right and disappears, zup with that?
@rudbobbins He just goes off camera, but you see him hit the tube and land on the pad when the camera pans back... I know, I know, it is still fake.
Too Swedish. Even the Finnish voices seem dubbed / pasted from somewhere. But the most telling sign is the use of safety gear - We'd do it without helmets, and probably butt naked. Sissy stuff this is...
The new way to sack an employee is to literally *fire* him/her.
If you want to keep your job you are going to have to get fired.
OUT OF A CANNON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually now it was filmed in Finland so no guestion about that, but Martti sure is ´swedish or Fin/Swe.
*know
That is so epic

Despite how fake this is I still enjoy the scream right before the first chime
so thats where Intel is wasting their money into....making chimes?? unbelievable! couldn't they have spent that money somewhere useful? its the holidays, at least give it to the poor and the needy. stupidity...Intel, a multi-billionaire company doing that crap? wow...
@mshaaban you may want to do a bit of research. http://www.intel.com/intel/cr/gcr/overview.htm?iid=intel_corp+rhc_crr and in addition to Intel's monetary giving they highly encourage their employees to provide volunteer hours for community support worldwide. with a 55% + rate of employees participating in volunteer activities that puts them in a very small group of corporations world wide.
Meee next, me next!!
Not as good as the Outpost.com gerbil cannon.

You should have seen the look on my wife's face. I told her that Intel fired some engineers and when she asked "how" I replied "with cannons."

I haven't been there for years, so there might better sites by now (you could always google 'bugmenot alternative' or whatever)
Note that many site admins check that site and ban those public accounts.
wait..what if they missed?
Wow, those are big smurfs.
Mitä hemmettiä?
"Matti" definitely is not native Finnish speaker but the woman in the end is.
