It's Monday, which means you get some interesting WoW-related crafts to distract you from the Monday blues! Speaking of blues, today's creation is all about the color blue -- a custom-made action figure portraying one of the more annoying denizens of The Barrens. Cincicustoms from the Staghelm server managed to whip up this custom harpy figure in record time, all the while putting in an incredible amount of detail.

The harpy figure is absolutely stunning, and the amount of detail that went into the finished product is amazing. "I would say from start to finish, it took about 8 to 10 hours to make including prep work, sculpting, painting and sealing," Cincicustoms says. "The feathers were sculpted with Ave's Apoxie Sculpt, which is a very strong, air-drying epoxie clay. Each feather was made one at time, and I used a combo of dental tools and a knitting needle to sculpt them. It took awhile, but it was actually pretty fun!"

The figure has a lot of articulation as well -- the chest, shoulders, mid-arm, waist, hips, mid-thigh, knees, mid-calf and feet all have full articulation, making the harpy completely poseable. This is pretty amazing, especially considering how much of the arms are covered by feathers. The harpy was originally a WWE Diva figure, which was then sanded down and modified. Cincicustoms has a tutorial of the process available on deviantART as well, for those curious about how the figure came together.

One question was left in my mind, however -- out of all the characters and creations in the world of Azeroth, why a harpy? "I really wanted to do a female from WoW, but something a bit more obscure," Cincicustoms explains. "I remembered back to the good old days of rolling newbie trolls, tauren and night elves and remembered my strange obsession with the harpies. The more they killed me and screamed into my headphones, the more I wanted to take their loot! So I made this to remind me of those times, and to show my fandom to one of my favorite games of all time."

Nice work, Cincicustoms -- and be sure to let us know if you have any other WoW projects under way!
