Philips delivers three new lines of Eco LED TVs

The new Philips / Funai combo P&F is promising a sweet look on the face of being green with its stylish Eco TV series. Check the press releases after the break, but the 4000, 5000 and ultimately 7000 series climb the ladder predictably in sizes and price. Key in 2010 is the introduction of Netflix streaming, internet radio and Blockbuster Video On Demand on some models and even HDMI 1.4 jacks on the top of the line 7000 models. P&F unveils the new look of "Green" HD with Philips Eco FlatTV™ line
New range of 7000 series packs unparalleled performance in an ultra-slim design

Las Vegas– Combining high style and environmental consciousness, P&F unveils the new Philips Eco TV™ 7000 series today at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This new line features an ultra-slim design and advanced LED technology for maximum energy efficiency. The innovative design displays an ultra slim rounded bezel, making the picture the star of any living room. A high performance HD engine is packed inside these sleek sets giving consumers a viewing experience like never before. Offering consumers a range of sizes from 40 to 55 inches, the series delivers the ultimate viewing experience through best in class video processing, sound, connectivity and design.

"The new 7000 series not only leads the way with its unparalleled viewing experience and design, but it delivers on consumers desire for a more environmentally responsible product," said Todd Richardson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for P&F, exclusive licensee for Philips consumer televisions and home theater in North America. "Utilizing fewer materials in the design to reduce the carbon footprint and the Philips ambient light sensor allows consumers to reduce their energy consumption without sacrificing performance."

More Technology – Less Power
The new series is Energy Star 4.0 and is packed with numerous innovations providing a more efficient viewing experience. The LED 7000 series is 40 percent more energy efficient than a conventional CCFL set and the inclusion of Philips proprietary dimming technology reduces power consumption without compromising the picture quality. A built-in ambient light sensor automatically measures the viewing room's ambient lighting and adjusts the television's backlight for power efficiency. The entire series uses a powersave mode and consumes less than .02 watts in standby power. These combined technologies allow the new Eco TV line to help consumers save energy and money.

These energy-efficient sets deliver on the best picture quality and distinctive style while incorporating lead-free, mercury-free components and flame retardant materials. The 7000 uses 30 percent less plastic materials than the 2009 range and the entire series is RoHS compliant. Furthermore, the packaging and printed materials contain post consumer recycled content.

Pure Performance-
The new Philips 7000 series features a 1080p LED panel, delivering 30 trillion colors with perfect contrast for one of the sharpest pictures available in an HDTV. The patented Perfect Pixel HD Engine 120Hz video processing boasts the fastest industry response time for a crisp, clear picture. Each pixel of the picture is enhanced to match the surrounding pixels better, resulting in a more natural picture. This is a unique combination of sharpness, natural detail, vivid colors, superior contrast and smooth natural motion enhances any content. The technology provides artifact and noise detection and reduction in all content sources - from multimedia to standard TV, resulting in clean and razor sharp images. This ultra-fast motion response time provides crystal clear moving images, improves shadow detail and black levels in dark scenes while greatly diminishing motion artifacts. Perfect Natural Motion rounds out the technology inside by smoothing out the picture for clear, detailed images on the screen.
