Window G85HD PMP is somewhere between awesome and awkward
You know, the vast majority of Chinese PMPs are underwhelming, and we can't say for sure that the Windows G85HD is any different, but the video walkthrough of the user interface has us interested at the very lease. Reportedly, the all-white, touchscreen-centric device packs a Rockchip RK2806 processor, a 4.3-inch panel (800 x 480), 3.5mm headphone jack, 720p video output, 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, FM radio tuner, a Chinese-English dictionary and support for a multitude of file formats. There's nary a word on when and where you'll be able to find this, but if you find yourself situated in Shenzhen, feel free to scope things out at the local market and fill us in.

Should be very "least", stick to Cowon you can't go wrong with a PMP. These Chinese units are cheap but have terrible support and bad firmware upgrades. The Cowon user community is very involved as well.
@mattrix you beat me too it.. internet speelers... untie.
no... wait, that's not right..
That's pretty nice for a generic chinese PMP
@Luffy
if it's 'pretty nice' then i hardly think that it is generic
:)
What video formats does this support?
@Usta
Pretty much everything you throw at it. That's the only thing going for most of these pmp. Crappy support and UI, but can play full hd in many format.
@Usta
MKV, AVI, RM, RMVB, MP4, MOV, VOB, DAT, FLV, 3GP, plus H.264 enconding
@max1001
Thanks for the answer!
I'm just wondering if this PMP can handle a bit of complex encoded videos (like B-frames or H.264 at 720p). If it can play most of the video material around without any conversion, and if the price is right, then we have an interesting device...
"Touchscreen-centric"? Thanks for the illumination
"at the very lease" - I believe you meant "least"
To be honest, this looks more like a POC POS... The scroll effects implemented is trying to act like the effects on the iPhone/iPod Touch, but seems to have a few hiccups on deciding the extent of the finger scroll...
I could use that on board Chinese-English dictionary to watch the video.
Mmm.. that should have been filed under KIRF sections.

At least it has original icon designs. That's a breath of fresh air.
If they would have thrown in a GPS with software, this might have sold big. It's the perfect size...
