Sarotech T2 offers NAS relief to media fanatics in a diminutive, HD-friendly package
Sarotech's newest might not be the wildest media player in town, but if you're looking to get down to business in a svelte (4.5 x 3.75 x 0.85-inch) package, the T2 should be more than up to the task. This bad boy sports a Sigma SMPS8653 CPU (500MHz), support for Full HD MKV, H.264 videos, DTS and Dolby sound, and 1080p HDMI 1.3 output. If that weren't enough, this will also apparently function as a NAS functions (including FTP and Samba), 802.11n WiFi, and it has a USB port for external storage. Available now in South Korea for 160,000 won (about $143).

Nice! Put a 2TB EHDD and you are set for awesome movie experience! I'll take it for the same price!
Is it just me, or does this thing look like the new iPhone 4g?
Glass/ceramic pate + Metal trim....
Apple always sets the trend in electronics fasion
@AppleDrank ya, cause i'm sure they copied the look and feel of the leaked iphone 4g that surfaced last week and got their product to copy that look in just a few days.
@AppleDrank Are you serious? I hope you realize that this product is available NOW and that the images for the iphone 4g have just been LEAKED. It's not possible for them to have copied apple on this concept. Secondly, Apple just now put a front-facing camera on their phone, do you even know how long phones in asia have had this feature? Pretty sure apple didn't set the trend there. Go get a life Apple fanboy.
@AppleDrank
Your avatar of Steve holding 4G is the new 4G
@Ahnyeong
the HTC Evo that was announced last month has a front facing camera too ya know...
@Cin The HTC Raphael also had a front facing camera in 2008. HTC is a Taiwan based company. Taiwan is in Asia, just so you know. I think you missed the point of my comment - Apple is not a trend setter in electronic fashion for everything - my example being phones having front-facing cameras for a long time in asia.
@Cin Not only that but a network that can handle video calling over the data network.
popbox is out for preorder now through amazon. two models, one with wireless. also got a release date of june.
Hmm is this 1Gbit capable? If it is for that price even if it's not 1.4 (to future proof even more) i'll take one, it'll go well with my tonidoplug. In fact these 2 will probably make some pretty babies ^^
This or Boxee?
This is the future of computing, for several reasons.
that would integrate into my media network nicely.... show up on ebay quickly please...
I'd love one of these if it had a tuner in it.
How does this support "Full HD" mkv with only a 500mhz processor? I thought the ION 1.6Ghz could barely keep up
@doublet
think 5 fps. That's still 1080p right? :p
@doublet
The Sigma is a dedicated media chip. Does what it says on the tin.
Sigma SMPS8653 CPU (500MHz) is that the same chipset as the popcornhour?
If so, it's certainly better looking than most popcornhour-type boxes
Does this thing connect to the internets and download torrents or something? Or do you have to copy your media to it from a PC? Or does it stream your media from ur PC using UPnP? Also how do you control the UI on the TV; does it come with its own IR remote?
