Verizon's Droid Incredible pre-order page is live, delivery on April 29th
Hey -- there it is! The Droid Incredible can be yours right now! Well, you can pre-order it on Verizon's site, anyway, and they're listing April 29th as the delivery date. The phone is $199 on contract, so if you can't wait to get ahold of this 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED, 1GHz Snapdragon-boasting beauty, well, hit up the source link.

That's incredible!
@Atkins
Does look pretty incredible. Not sure whether to get this or the Nexus One or wait for the Galaxy S. Been on AT&T and get GREAT service here plus I have 20% through them so it is hard to leave them for a phone. What does everyone think? Incredible(Verizon), Nexus One (AT&T) or Galaxy S (AT&T)?
@Scincidae Can you switch phones with ATT under the same contract?
As incredible as this seems, the EVO 4G is INCREDIBLER!
EVO.. SOLD!
@Atkins
Not sure what you are asking? I can get a new phone and still keep my current price with discount. My contract ends in two months with the iPhone 3G and that is what one of the three phones will be replacing.
@Scincidae Well, I am not in the US, so... If you can switch phones during your ATT contract then better to stick with Nexus One or Galaxy S. Or am I wrong?
@Atkins
No, it's incredible that I can't go on the internet while on a phone call.
@Atkins
I will be switching after the end of the contract so the contract itself isn't a problem for me. Switching to Verizon will probably just cost me a little more and I lose my beloved coverage in Europe for once a year trips across seas. Nothing I couldn't deal with if the Incredible is that much better than the Nexus One or Galaxy S.
@Scincidae No, my point was (sorry, not a native speaker): if you choose ATT and let's say the Nexus, and you are unhappy, then can you switch to the Samsung (using the same contract, just switching the hardware)?
sweeet. might as well be pre-ordering sex
@Atkins
Ahh, never really thought about that. I guess that would be a pro though Verizon will most likely have the Nexus One by the summer. Thanks for that consideration!
@JS Use wifi. Second, The incredible is a phone that receives calls, something I've heard iPhone has a bit of a hard time with :)
@Scincidae - go with nexus one! It looks nicer than incredible and has stock android. Worse camera...but 5 MP is still great.
@KungFuHamster And how exactly is that? I've never had a problem with iPhone receiving calls.
UK version please!
@LightShow
because you don't know about them
Funny to see a way better phone on Sprint. Verizon got screwed.
The Incredible is still great, the Evo is just Incredible-ar!
@RockNStuff
Everyone is praising the EVO so much, but I don't see what makes it MUCH better than the Nexus One or the Incredible. Yeah 4G is nice but otherwise is it really worth so many people commenting about it in EVERY mobile phone news post?
@Scincidae The Evo is technologically superior to the Incredible. It has a bigger display, which is basically killer and the video chat capabilities.
And Sprint's 4G is the icing on the cake.
Not to mention 720p.
@RockNStuff It's OK - I'm on Sprint and feel like I got screwed when they didn't get the HD2 - ALL of their most commented threads on their own website forums are about the HD2. There was tremendous demand for it and yet Sprint didn't get it. They also didn't get the imagio last year that Verizon got.
I hear Tmobile can't keep the HD2 in stock and they barely advertise it.
@Scincidae
Wait you mean 8 mpx cam, front facing cam, 4.3 inch display, HDMI out, wifi sharing, and built in kick stand alone don't make it better?
@Eternity
The incredible has an 8mp camera and a big enough screen. Yeah HDMI out, wifi sharing (4G only I believe) and kickstand are cool but more novelty (wifi sharing more than novelty but still doesn't mean the EVO should be brgged about when talking about every Android phone on Engadget).
@Scincidae But you have to admit. At a device scale, the Evo is superior.
@RockNStuff
Never doubted it is better, just minimally at an overview. Just seems there are a lot of people bashing the Incredible as if it were a difference of night and day, which seems a little silly. Everyone should be happy for having great phones like these available, not bickering in every Incredible post that the EVO is better.
@Scincidae Come on man quit kidding yourself, maybe you are trying to justify your purchase.....
The screen is a whole half an inch bigger than the Incredible. That is enough win just by itself. I forgot to mention it has a full 1Gb of rom too, so more space for apps and 720p video. The Evo pwns anything that is going to be out this summer except the Samsung Galaxy S. But that is up to your needs. Personally I will go for whichever is cheaper. lol
@Eternity
I am not justifying anything. I actually have an iPhone 3G that is two years old (looking to replace and am sort-of considering the EVO). If the EVO was on AT&T or Verizon I would probably get it, I just really don't see how it is leaps an bounds ahead of the incredible like some make it seem. I personally like the look of the Nexus One over the Incredible, the EVO and the Galaxy S but am still not sure what to buy (EVO is last on my list sadly because of Sprint's coverage even if I have 4G covering every direction for 50 miles).
Sorry if I seemed to be really downplaying the EVO, I don't doubt it is the best phone in the US for 2010 (that we know of). Still don't see anyone crying over the difference in features from the Incredible vs. the EVO.
@Scincidae Since HDMI out isn't important for you, then I suggest you go for the Galaxy S. It has a bigger screen than the incredible, is much more powerful, and has a Super Amoled display which means sunlight readability and longer battery life. They are also going to release a QWERTY option which i am excited about. Only thing is it has a 5 mpx cam not 8 but picture quality is more important I think.

there need to be a sarcasm key on my keyboard, that way I don't have to respond to people who don't see that I WAS BEING SARCASTIC!
@raaaaaa
...but you just replied to me, or was that supposed to be sarcastic too?
Wish there was a chart comparing this to the EVO and an explanation of the pros and cons of each. For some reason, I need this stuff spoon-fed to me, even though it's already all out there.
@EYC Same here. I wonder why do we have so many of those charts for cameras, yet not for other products.
@EYC
Hope this helps:

Who has the better (price wise) plan? I know Sprint was all you can eat for 69. Do they have a cheaper plan then this that will still give you data and limited minutes?
What about snap dragon. I have been hearing its actually kind of sluggish compared to Tegra, yea everything (at least the phones I want, EVO, Mini 5 ) all seem to be Snap Dragon.
@Synergi If you want a cheaper plan, check out the Everything Plus plans. 500 minutes and unlimited data, only catch is you have to be a new customer.
@Synergi Sorry, forgot the link. http://mcguireslaw.com/2008/07/16/psst-have-you-heard-about-everything-plus/
@cloud858rk
Thanks for the link. I have an iPhone but my contract is up this summer. I'm kind of bored of it and want to try something new. I can always buy a updated iPod touch later if it gets me a cheaper plan.
I am really liking the bigger screens on these mentioned phones. I'm a little scared of Samsung though, I do not have a good track record with that company. Everything I've bought has failed except my TV. That's 9 products in about 10 years..all within a year.
I've known this.. our best buy stores put signage out this morning to take pre orders as well. We will be releasing it same day
did you see the Vid??? they downloaded engadget. aHAHAHAA cool
@Alexpeegs
That is pretty cool, Vzw likes Engadget. I was just about to say that but needed to make sure I wasn't the only one who saw that.
I sure hope Android becomes better for business users. Engadget seems to love Android but no business users I support love their Android.
I think Android is a lot like Linux - very powerful but not ideal for most business users or home users. Most games and business apps aren't supported in Linux even though it is very powerful and probably very stable. Hard to say Linux is stable as most apps and drivers are the reason Windows crashes and there aren't always drivers or apps available for Linux :)
Without voice dial by bluetooth and better support for MS Exchange, I have little use nor do any of my clients for Android. Touchdown is a good in between for Android but still doesn't seem like Android takes business use seriously if they expect people to use gmail which it supports well.
Android Froyo with beta Flash is launching in May (prob with the I/O), so I wouldn't rush into any purchases just yet...

I have hardware envy of android, but then I use android on a friends phone and realize why I don't care that much about it. Please htc, put WebOS on one of these phones.
PhoneScoop has a review on it already...

Don't know if it's already been done or not at this level.
Can't **WAIT** to see the commercials?
Think they're going to continue the "theme" of the Motorola Droid commercials?
Either way, I hope it's as bad-ass!!
@Johnny Rockets
That first ? was supposed to be a !

Wait, what will be the big difference between between this and the Nexus One? They're identical pretty much in specs, right?
