Droid Incredible torn down to its constituent elements, reassembled in a flash (video)
Now here's an innovative concept -- instead of doing separate videos for an unboxing and a disassembly of the Droid Incredible, why not combine them into one? And while you're at it, turn that into a stop-motion animation and include well timed sound effects for comedic relief. Make sure to include intimate closeups of the Incredible's spectacularly red innards, then finish off with a sped-up reconstruction and reboot of the handsome Nexus One killer. Got all that? Good, now drop the video after the break and let the people enjoy it.

Beautiful even on the inside.
@hq it's pretty darn complicated
@hq
i dunno.. i think purple PCB's look better..
@hq
Yeah, but will a closer look reveal why I'm getting poor reception with it compared to previous smartphones?
@steel
I see I'm not the only one noticing this then... it's too bad.
@hq
Witchcraft!
@steel
I have no such problems. I's say I get better reception than my Touch Pro 2 ever did.
@steel
The signal meter is crap. Check your db reading in your phones settings. Mine frequently says 1-2bars when I'm getting 60-65db of signal. For reference 50db is near perfect and 100db plus would be dropping calls.
@FNG
For those who don't obviously see it, mind filling us in? Is it the lack of a large, noticeable antenna?
@hq That was a pretty awesome stop-motion disassembly! That must have taken a LONG ass time to complete that but the overall effect is well worth it IMO. Very cool!
Yum
@ac2913 interesting how the time on-screen at the end of the video is before the time at the start of the video.. seems the reassembly is actually the disassembly?
@ptrjay
Check the date, first shot is in april, after re-asembly its in may
cool video and an awesome phone !
Sweet vid! Fun to watch.
@DonQ
Yes but I though the title said "reasembled in flash", I was crapping myself thinking I couldn't view it on my iPad.
"reassembled in a flash (video)" nice one. Flash is not dead! (yet)
@Felix Fdot
>>Flash is not dead! (yet)
No, not yet. Only in the future. Lets hope iPad will still live to see the funeral.
@Felix Fdot Funny thing is this was made by a Mac repair company. Why is a Mac gut tearing down a Google phone and Posting it in Flash?
droid incredible for europe. plz?
@hyaenidae
We already have it! It is the same phone as the HTC desire pretty much, except with a different case, and an extra 4gb storage :)
@mattpez
And without decent multitouch or an 8mp cam. At least it has physical buttons though.
Now that's a phone interior you can be proud of.
Unfortunately, it doesn't make me at all want to go to Techrestore for help with my tech gadget - sorry to the kind folks who made this awesome video!
Best unboxing ever!
Nice assembly of Droid Incredible.
@Ashutosh
nice pointing out of the obvious. OH THE SNARK, IT BURNS
I still wish the Nexus One was coming to Verizon. It will definitely get Froyo before this...
its a red blooded machine
Incredible.
Sick presentation.
Just goes to show you that an overall not too thrilling video can be made captivating by stop motion. I never thought i would stay glued to a person taking apart a phone and put it back together... but, I was.
Great phone but looks like wasted space and a pointless layer of red plastic, no?
Now we just witin for da evo 4g one...
Pick me!!!
I looove these vids.
Agreed; Great video; perfect amount of time and love the detail. N1 killer? I own the N1 and between T-Mo and it's G3 reception issues it's doing a fine job killing itself...still love it though!!
I like how the reassembly is video of the disassembly in reverse. Nice creativity.
Is that a Costco Microfiber towel at the end? If so, they should use better quality microfiber towels.
Nexus One killer?? I am a big fan of the Droid Incredible, but I do not think it can be classified as a "Nexus One killer" when the specs are extremely similar. Yeah, the Incredible has Verizon network, internal storage and a "better camera" (if you tweak settings properly).... but it DOES NOT have the ability to root (yet), massive dev community, custom ROMs (obv because no root).
I couldn't stop watching it.
It was very entertaining.
I've done that to a phone I didn't want anymore, but there were pieces left over after reassembly......LOL
Did it bother anyone that the guy reassembling the Incredible wasn't wearing any ESD wrist straps?
@azechini87
HA!
I'm sure he licked a metal pole before starting.
@azechini87
ESD straps are for sissys. 8^)
Seriously, though, as long as you ground yourself before doing anything (and after sitting down), you're fine. I've handled a LOT of bare boards in my career and the only time I've ever zapped something was getting out of a car in winter and the device I was holding came between me and the door.
@StalkyTheFish Haha, nice. Yea, you're right. As long as he's done it before he messes with the board he's good. I just got startled when i thought he zapped that beauty.
ah so lovely i want to eat it,YUmmy!
Great the insides! Good video none the less, that doesn't explain the silly bumps on the back of the case.
I am seemingly having a lot less 3g coverage with my incredible. Is this what others are experiencing
@LindsS I haven't noticed any connectivity issues. My house has always been a dead a dead zone, I use WiFi there, also, I have 3g 95% if the time. The signal strength is mostly around 3 bars. I live in Southern California.
Still Incredible
What an amazing video. Much appreciated.
