Square Enix's Chocobo Panic isn't an RPG about a chocobo uprising, as we speculated. Instead, it's an iPad game about catching and releasing chocobos in response to prompts.

Players tap to hold up to six chocobos of the correct colors, and then must let go of specific chocobos by taking a finger off the iPad. This simple gameplay is available in both single-player and co-op modes, the latter featuring alternating turns. In simultaneous two-player mode, players compete until one makes a mistake.

Think of it as a prelude to our fantasy chocobo uprising game, in which you attempt to keep the chocobo population literally under your thumb. Chocobo Panic is available now for $3.99.
