Alt, The world's tiniest open source violin
Got a 3D printer? Make manifest your sympathy for those forewarned but apparently not forearmed.
The heartfelt tune it plays is CC licensed, and you can get it from my seed on JoinDiaspora.com whenever that project gets going.Confused? Hit the more coverage link. Intrigued? Build your own at the source.

What?
@DgDeBx
I cant stand how if you go into an "alt" article, there are no direct links to revert back to engadget..
I actually have to edit the dam "alt" out of the URL...
WTF?
@Technologeee
You can click on the 'Classic' button next to the green Engadget Logo at the top of the page to return to the original Engadget.
@Technologeee You can click the logo at the bottom of the page, or you can click your browser's back button.
@Technologeee
At the top near where it says engadget/the logo, there is a little button that says Classic, alongside all the other versions of Engadget. You can't really see its a button until you hover the mouse over it though, how nice right?
@Technologeee
Or, you know, you could hit the back button. ;-)
@Technologeee
as well as all those other options, the "NEWS" button at the top also takes you back to the homepage
@Technologeee Oh, hell, since everyone is giving options, I'll give one more. I typically open articles in new tabs, that way I don't have to reload the last page I was on to see the article list. This article was on the main Engadget page,so I just opened it in a tab.
Wow, somebody took the tiny violin joke seriously and literally. LOL.
Joker: "Oh, do you hear the tiny violin playing?"
Guy: "Well, yeah, I have one right here."
Joker: "..."
@pika2000
lmfao!!!!!!!!
This would make a very epic family guy scene or something!

I think..
@Alex89 or I could have just read the source link. And here I thought I was all knowing. sigh.
But, can it blend?
@SskyNnet
I think it can blend... But WILL it blend?
@DgDeBx :'( gosh I should have researched it first
Oh man, just think of the sheer amount of sarcasm that can be inflicted on people with this thing..
This god-like power should not belong in the hands of man..
@glenskey
Agreed, this violin gives whoever owns it total control of the immortal ban hammer. A curse no one man can bare alone...
At least his nails aren't over grown...
I want one so I can play a sad song on the worlds smallest violin.
the wold first mice symphony
how convenient, i actually DO have a 3d printer... this might have to happen just because
It's from a recent XKCD comic.
@Pryomancer http://xkcd.com/743/ to be exact!
Quick, call Steve Buscemi and Quentin Tarantino! They can make a remake of Reservoir Dogs!
This looks more than a burned piece of plastic for me.
Tiny violin lol. Reminds me of Spongebob episode.
Cool! :-)
XKCD reference FTW!
"Awww, boo-hoo. Here, lemme play a sad tune on the world's smallest violin."
