Another reason to want a job at Google: insane napping pods
Sure, the work days might be long, but there are plenty of upsides to working at Google, as far as we can tell -- not the least of which are the technologically advanced MetroNap Energy Pods they've installed for their drones to nap in. Seriously? On site naps? We're there.

What I would do to work at google? Oh boy, the question is what I wouldn't do...
@Btbessey I agree -- I'd LOVE to work for Google! :D
@Btbessey OH MY GOD I WANT. Google has a center down the street from my house, I'm going to the top public highschool SoCal. Yeah, I'm there!
@aliendude5300
I know right! I love my iPhone but to be on the team that builds android? And just to have the kind of care google gives them? It's like the bizarro foxconn. Super-man anyone?
@fowenati
...I think I remember these being sold at either Sharper Image or Brookstone. They were so badass!!!!
@Btbessey
Oh my... I should have opted out of email notification of replies... I sense some major emailers tonight...
@Btbessey
umm...the question is whether you will get any respite to sleep on the job during the day. And if you are actually using these for your night-time sleep then well......thats not a perk, its a curse :-/
@Btbessey
Can't be any worse than the time I was first to post on that $99 Apple TV story a couple weeks ago. Man, my email got flooded.
@Btbessey Watch the documentary on Google, the services for employees is insane. Of course, when you work for Google your career is your life, don't plan on being married unless that person also works for Google.
@Btbessey
Then why don't you apply?

A good friend of mine is moving to the Bay Area in July after having been given a full-time job straight out of college. You should try for it; who knows.
@Btbessey Can you imagine what Josh would do to his staff if he found any of them in one of these before an article was up on the site? Best not tempt yourselves guys, leave that to google.
@Bryant
That will come in handy in a couple of years haha. Thanks guys but I'm just a lazy 17 year old teenager who loves technology... Haha. If google is still boss when I graduate, hey why not?
And yeah I saw that doc on google! Ridinkulous!!! Google does their friggin laundry!!!!
@Btbessey "Hello? Is anybody there?" (Scans with laser)
Engadget please fix exclude/alt as it currently doesn't work.
@Btbessey
Really? You ever been in a Googleplex? There is a reason for the sleep pods. There's another place where you can sleep at the workplace...
Chinese electronic factories, they even have cinemas and places to eat! Woohoo imagine that you could watch movies at work!
@Btbessey haha same here I got 84 replies once
@worldspawn It only works for the tags that they add to each article. If they added an alt tag then it would work, but an easier solution would be to not post them on the regular site. Seriously, it's extremely redundant!
I'd love to work for them!
I want one!
@ComeShot $4900+GST
Is Lord Vader meditating under there?
Wow it seems like there's so many things to do there that ISN'T working....swimming, haircuts, and now NAPS! How does anyone get any work done?!?!
@nelagster
If only you knew!
@nelagster
If only you knew!
@nelagster
What do you think their doing the other 23 hours of the day?
Foxconn needs.
+1...No make that +10
@juanvaldez
Tired? There's a nap for that!
Engadget makes 3 lines and then puts an article about it...wtf?? atleast make a paragraph!!
@TheSunman89
Out of all the things in the world you could complain about, you chose the fact that this blog post, which is not necessarily an article, is 3 lines long? wow.
This is Engadget Alt. Normal rules don't apply.
@TheSunman89
Well, FT's source article is only 2 lines long. So Engadget wrote 50% more. That's some badass improvement. ;-)
Lol not a big deal, I go to savannah college of art and design and we have these.
Put me to sleep everytime lol
@ipodboy61 I think a combo of a LazyBoy + baseball game is a more surefire, not to mention cheaper, method for me.
@juanvaldez Who needs the recliner?
Wake me up when there is a real story.....zzzzzzzzzz
Not a big deal, I go to Savannah college of art and design and we have these lol they're a dream
@ipodboy61 woops sorry for the double lol
Haha. That's just too awesome. Wish I could get nap too. =P
Google is pure evil.
over sized hair dryer for body hair?
How do you know when your employer does NOT want you to ever go home?
Most jobs if you fall asleep it's automatic termination.
That is awesome!
I work at a place with lots of cool ammenities as well, but after a while you do get jaded. The napping pod seems like a killer Idea though.
I think the idea behind most of Google's seemingly awesome perks is that you pretty much live there. No thanks.
@Sonic Death Monkey totally agree.
No wonder android is so shitty...no one is working at all....
@BrookLynnsFinest Downranked into oblivion in 3...2...1...
I guess they don't have offices?
What will happen if someone hits you in the nuts lol ur going to hit ur head lol
